Im a rangers fan and i always loved watching Stars games on tv back then when they played in good old Reunion Arena. there was just something about it. I wish they still played here
@villageboyak Ya, I liked the older arenas much more than most of the new ones. I would rather have the noise and great passion than sip wine in box seats.
@aqinthe Exactly! Here in Anchorage, Alaska, our Sullivan Arena is pretty much a smaller Reunion, as there isn't a bad seat in the house and the noise and passion is second to none! I prefer that much more over luxury. If you want luxury, go to the opera or something. :P
1995 1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 During those years it was one of the following: Detroit, Colorado or Dallas. And between them they accounted for SIX Cups!!! A great era in hockey. I miss it.
Part Roy's fault, part defense's fault. How do you let them pressure Roy like that without giving him a clear outlet? The only person remotely in position is Lemieux. Deadmarsh is doing nothing.
Yeah, Reunion Arena might've been an older building at the time, but still, one of the louder arenas for playoff hockey. The Stars were the toast of the league that year, regardless of what fans in Buffalo have to say about that LOL.
i remember watching this when i was 11. Then I received the best birthday gift on June 19, a Championship team. The 90's truly were awesome for Dallas sports
put hockey back on espn..

Roy should have gift wrapped that pass and put a nice bow of it when he gave that away

I miss NHL being on ESPN and the Dallas Stars being good (as well as the Avalanche) and the NHL uniforms before that RBK Edge bullshit.

Final game for Dale Hunter (I am sure that Capitals fans will always remember his OT goal in Game 7 against Flyers in 1988)

Other than Ralph and Razor, Gary Thorne is by far my favorite. I agree.

I don't care what the Mavericks, Rangers, or Cowboys do; no arena, or stadium, in Dallas will ever be as loud as that arena was that day.

Man, for how good Roy was, that was such a dumb play.

As good as Roy was, he had a knack for taking huge chances and giving the puck away.

I'm a true Avs fan, but these were the days for the Stars. Reunion Arena = awesome atmosphere. Wonder why they decided for luxury over passion.

@gatorbait20082008 and the only eastern conference team who could win the cup in that era: the Devils

reunion arena was one of the loudest arenas in hockey or basketball. aac is way too corporate to ever get like that.

I was at that game- the most exciting game I've ever seen live. Belfour was ridiculous the entire year.

I wish the Stars were like that this year...they had great teams in the late 90s and early 2000s

That day is coming soon. They've done a good job assembling a crop of young talent. The Stars are going to go back to the top.

@Cody99TA well its hard to compare fans celebrating in the wcf to fans with a average team everything is bigger in playoffs.

@Cody99TA
Me too. There is absolutely no comparison to the AAC. Of course some of that might be the lack of success since these days...I miss this time.
