I think to appreciate this movie you have to have been around horses for an amount of time in your life. You can't just go watch it because you don't understand the relationship between horse and rider. People saying it sucks don't have no respect, they just don't understand.

This film is really cute - but in terms of horse training, it might give inexperienced people some very dangerous and illusory ideas. You don't go straight to a rearing nervous horse and hug him - neither do you introduce him to the harness by putting your own nose through, holding your nose next to his nose and than let it slide over his neck - you're very likely to break your nose that way. Still, cute film. ;)

Saw this yesterday, I just cried for most of the film haha... it really does hit home about how brave the soldiers (and horses) were out on the trenches in the war. Haven't been this emotional over a film since Titanic. A masterpiece :)

Saw the film yesterday and even though it's not suitable viewing for the very young it still a very impressive bit of directing by Spielberg

i think that they feel that they've won. Last nite we screened this movie at the academy of motion pictures on wilshire and the big OSCAR Statues were on the left and right sides of the stage. there were many people DRessed to the 9s and we had great food, wine, social. this movie will win OSCARS.. They put that in our minds last nite. So the friends, producers, everyone was there. it was EXCELLENT cinematography but to me a bit too graphic. storyline was WEAK. I did not like it

@animelover5076, you will is one of the most powerful war movies ever released. The tragedy and misery of war from the Western Front in WWI throught the eyes of a war horse. The scene where the enemy soldiers collaborate to help him be free in No Man's land is a classic one. Great cast, amazing story. His actions save the black Household cavalry horse until there is no more he cando, his encounter with the tank is very powerful too.
