i saw this, ashley spencer was a great eponine! robert cuccioli was a phenominal javert, joey serafini was awesome as gavroche. my dad knows the guy who played thendardnier. he was okay, but could have been a little more exciting. the blocking and set disappointed me a little, but then again, they only had a week to put it together. maybe could have used a little more rehearsal time.
Good production... set and blocking at parts angered me. Javerts suicide was...ehhh not his fault but very anticlimatical. What was his fault was his almost lack of acting and more just singing it. Eponine was amazing, I mean pure gold. Thenardiers were well....boring =/ which is sad bc those are such great parts
Brilliant production. Was slightly disappointed at what you took out though but thankfully I have the Complee Symphonic Recording to fill in the gaps!
This is the sixth time I've seen Les Mis, and I LOVE Robert Cuccioli, but I was disappointed some stage setting- no rotating stage, only half of a gate, and a bench in the middle of One Day More.
i did notice that bench in the middle of One Day More. i was worried that they forgot about it, and were going to trip over it lol. but i guess it's supposed to be there.
the acting and vocals were amazing but the set was disapointing at times esp. after doing this at my high school with the rotating baricade and a full gate.
Actually, Mackintosh and associates prevent producing companies from using a turn table. I believe their reasoning is to make people think out of the "les miz box." I actually helped build this set at Music Theatre of Wichita and I think its quite innovative.
i just saw this exact show today, and i have to say: IT IS THE BEST MUSICAL EVER! i cried 8 times! i counted! and it's amazing. every actor was absolutely flawless, and had the most beautiful voices. they showed so much emotion, and the orchestra was perfect. and it was so moving...every song did something to me. and the sets were amazing, as well. i just can't say enough about this show. it's just...PERFECT

Was it Gateway? Because I saw it at Gateway, and, at times, I was more impressed with Gateway's production.

no it was Steubeville High School, we are in ohio right on the ohio river, maybe 40 min away from pittsburgh

I saw this at Gateway also, and I agree. I felt the same way at times as well. Both groups did a phenomenal job though.
