  • Between Dawes and Ray Lamontagne, I think music is restored for me again.

  • @simpleman2423 if you add stephen kellogg, and ryan adams id agree with that

  • Anyone know the chords?

I can't figure out the second one.

  • @brental1 Yah!! The key they play it in the progression is Bb C#9 Eb for the verse.. you can make that C# 9 by middle finger 5th fret A string, index finger 4th fret D string then barr high three strings on the 5th fret.... then the pre chorus is just Eb to Bb over and over.. idk about the woohhs yet haha I figured id help a brother out cause i wanted to play "Lord" by Langhorne Slim and it uses that same shape and it took me forever cause i was playing a 7 not a 9... anyway hope that helped.

  • This is a great song...I wish the fuckin' people would shut the hell up and appreciate it. Its so distracting. But, in any case... I think this song is amazing.

  • Made the RollingStone top 25 songs of the year list. U2 deservedly No.1.

  • @Gurjitsd07 i know!! how come nobody knows about this, stupid drunks talking over unknown greats

  • U2 sucks

  • What are you, like 11?

  • um no 24. in my mind U2 is overrated.. bloody sunday is the only song by them i like.

  • I saw a short blurb on Dawes in The New Yorker, of all places. Put it on my "music to look into" list, and now it turns out to be my favorite release of the year. Great stuff now, lotsa potential down the road. (BTW, the Louris/Olsen album and the new Mountain Goats are the only others considered for my fove of the year...)

  • I just recently got exposed to Dawes. Wow. I was impressed first by the depth of musicianship, then after a couple listens, by cut-to-the-bone lyrics.

  • emusic has it

  • good stuff!

  • i agree with tdog. I saw their album reviewed in uncut and had to check them out.

  • This is the NEXT E-Street Band. Taylor will be the Next "Boss" if his present state of ever-rising "live maturity" continues. The guys are Tight, respectful of each other, and One Class Act of youngsters. Bravo, Dawes!

  • well when starts singing

  • second chord is the greatest

  • Absolutely stunning.

  • Gorgeous song.

  • where can I buy cd. I cannot find it anywhere. Not even on itunes.

  • The album isn't on itunes or amazon anymore... (which probably means they got signed by a record company and the label had them take it off the market before they re-release it under the label.)

i would google "Dawes- north hills" and see if you can find anything..

or try to see them live and buy it at the show.

  • They're on Record Collection now. what a band!

  • dawes are so bad ass

  • What are these guys doing opening for other bands? This is the best sound I've heard in years. Just bought tickets to see them in Seattle next week (they are opening for two lesser bands).

  • These guys are one of the most honest and soulful bands ive ever seen.

  • Their album is terrific. Get it!

  • Dawes is the best opening band I have ever heard! I can't get enough of their album.

  • these guys are amazing, a very, very nice suprise.

thank you so much for posting this!

  • My pleasure - I was happily surprised too!

  • for me, they were a bigger highlight than delta spirit, who were, of course, still amazing.

did you by any chance get to talk to Taylor Goldsmith after? I did! he's super nice and real sincere.

  • Best band I've heard in a long time.
