@brental1 Yah!! The key they play it in the progression is Bb C#9 Eb for the verse.. you can make that C# 9 by middle finger 5th fret A string, index finger 4th fret D string then barr high three strings on the 5th fret.... then the pre chorus is just Eb to Bb over and over.. idk about the woohhs yet haha I figured id help a brother out cause i wanted to play "Lord" by Langhorne Slim and it uses that same shape and it took me forever cause i was playing a 7 not a 9... anyway hope that helped.
This is a great song...I wish the fuckin' people would shut the hell up and appreciate it. Its so distracting. But, in any case... I think this song is amazing.
I saw a short blurb on Dawes in The New Yorker, of all places. Put it on my "music to look into" list, and now it turns out to be my favorite release of the year. Great stuff now, lotsa potential down the road. (BTW, the Louris/Olsen album and the new Mountain Goats are the only others considered for my fove of the year...)
I just recently got exposed to Dawes. Wow. I was impressed first by the depth of musicianship, then after a couple listens, by cut-to-the-bone lyrics.
This is the NEXT E-Street Band. Taylor will be the Next "Boss" if his present state of ever-rising "live maturity" continues. The guys are Tight, respectful of each other, and One Class Act of youngsters. Bravo, Dawes!
The album isn't on itunes or amazon anymore... (which probably means they got signed by a record company and the label had them take it off the market before they re-release it under the label.)
i would google "Dawes- north hills" and see if you can find anything..
What are these guys doing opening for other bands? This is the best sound I've heard in years. Just bought tickets to see them in Seattle next week (they are opening for two lesser bands).
Between Dawes and Ray Lamontagne, I think music is restored for me again.

for me, they were a bigger highlight than delta spirit, who were, of course, still amazing.
did you by any chance get to talk to Taylor Goldsmith after? I did! he's super nice and real sincere.
