Good job, keep at it. A cheap tip for you to get rid of head ring. Take your heads off, on the back of the heads put four strips of duct tape on them. Make like a "+", way cheaper than the foam rings and works much better. I use an Evans G2 dry snare head. G2 hydraulic heads on the toms, Emad 2 on the bass drum. And I really tighten the heck out of my snare to get that nice crisp punch. Plus I play really hard, so if it's not tight, I'll ding the crap out of it, lol. Keep rocking man
