  • elon college(fightin christans) 1972 SMOKEY gym

  • Good song. :)

  • such a jivey tune!!

  • 47 people as of January 27, 2012, needed to be permanently barred from leaving any response. Too bad they weren't.

  • Oh My God - SO few bands ever come close to this amount of sheer talent. Yes, that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. You can stick to the crap these days that has NO real/actual talent behind it. Just electronics, stupid/senseless lyrics and people who can't even sing a single note on key with their own voices. Yep, you can keep all the noise and garbage. Too bad you take such offense to calling crap .... CRAP.

  • It doesn't get any "COOLER" than this! Except for, maybe - 'MAYBE" - "China Grove!"

    THESE GUY "ROCK!!"

  • @SuperChelsea70 ...eat shit.

  • I was dating this guy who took me to a party. We got there early, sat down in the living room and this song came on the radio. I said 'OH Boy this song'. He said 'Does it bother you I'll change it'..

...I said 'are you kidding TURN IT UP, ILOVE IT.'

  • love this song, takes me back to the happy seventies, much better than todays gangster, aggressive, souless rap crap

  • muito bom!!!

  • Why's the drummer wearing a colander on his head?

  • Just an outstanding song that has stood the test of time! The harmonies, chord structure, rythm, lyrics...everything about it just makes me smile, as so much music from the 70s and 80s did!

  • doobie, what a great name

  • although our taste in music has fallen our sense of fashion has clearly increased.lol great song!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG! this song makes me dance in my chair. I lost my second virginity to a "Mrs. Robinson". I always traveled with an extra one! (0_0) lol

  • uouoooooo listen to this music uouoooooo all the time

  • No Baxter was A Gunslinger Guitarist......The Founding Members Of Steely Dan Were and Always Be Fagen And Becker

  • Michael Mcdonald was brought in to replace tom jonhston who had to leave because of a stomach aliment. Mcdonald was sugested to the band by the other guitarist in this video (Jeff Baxter) the skunk! wearing the sunglasses. Baxter was also one of the founding menbers of steely dan.

  • Best Band Ever! And this was a great 1972 song! Tom Johnston really brought the vocals out!

  • AWESOME!!!

  • Although this lipped I still think it is cool. Nothing like the Doobies

  • Is this the doobie brothers?!?!?!??! Is Michael Mcdonald the lead singer?!?!?!?! IM CONFUSED

  • @Nallzybellz Yes it is. They were not actually called Doobie.

  • @Nallzybellz Michael came much later. I think the later 70's early 80's Although he did a lot of leads he was not the lead vocalist. . .the guy you just heard on this video was the official lead singer. I think they all could sing and did on different songs though. . .

  • When in doubt...listen to da music :)

  • qué música, experimento una dulce regresión. Pero, el micrófono en cualquier momento lo pica

  • Comment removed

  • @KurtTheWicked You religious fruit cake? I don't even...

  • Brings a tear and uplifts at the same time!!! Megasmic !

  • Its been said before but when I listen to this it revitalises and gives a lift. ( Full of the feel good factor)

  • Sounded real good on AM radio in 1972.

  • It just hurts your ears.. its THAT good :)

  • This is how great this band was without Michael Mcdonald

  • @MrRandblues Amen

  • @MrRandblues - Thank you for saving me some time writing my comment!

The Doobie Brothers "ROCKED" with Tom Johnston! Michael McDonald made them sound too much like cheesy, cocktail lounge music. Whenever I think of Michael McDonald, I think of what Jake Blues said in the "Blues Brothers" about his band members being dressed in candy-ass outfits and playing silly music no one likes!

Good comment! Take care, Man! :)

  • Merci!

  • Born in 71, the 80's music is my era but certainly had no lack of 70's songs being played still and the place I used to go out used to play it all the time, awesome song and always puts me in a happy mood, it did back when I was 16 and it does till this day!

  • This is what I can Call Music

  • ,...and the crowd is growing bigger,...

  • I don't just like it, I LOVE it!!! What a memory song........Give anything if I could go back.......

  • GREAT !!!!!

  • Ahhh, this is lip-synched. Great song. But totally fake performance -- this is the studio recording.

  • @ciclisti666 Most were, unless you were on Midnight Special.... that is, until the 80's.

  • My school choir sang this for our spring concert last year. The preschoolers really enjoyed it :D

  • still has what it takes to make your feet move fingers snap and put a big smile on your face

  • on time i had turned the radio on to a station that only i like other kids started chasing me to change the station and then this song came on and it was like a big F.U to those kids

  • 45 ppl aren't listening to the music period.

  • Pure beauty, my God this will never die...

  • @Ciclopea2 we won't let it die

  • @lucasns010 No we won't :)

  • Do you remember the 8 track of this song?

  • The microphone is dancing

  • @maviowl Its moving to the beat.. LOL Its having a good time "listening to the music" :P

  • Gotta Love Them Doobies..!

  • The Doobie Brothers....hmmm looks like one of them was adopted.....

  • i knew the brothers before they were doobies , pat and me jammed a few times , 60's , he was good then , i hadnt got my chops yet , but i got em now , pat borrowed the term " doobies " from us , he owes us royalties i think ...

  • Man- How awesome! Invisible guitar (& bass) Cords!

  • where is michael mcdonald?

  • @MrACDC1997 This was long before his time...

  • good music nothing else to say about

  • A better band prior to Michael Macdonald or whatever the f his name is.

  • adorei

  • Oh my god. I love them so much. I can't even describe the love I have for their music :D

  • 43 people don't listen to the music..

  • True story: My dad drove them to a gig in a limo and watched them smoke a doobie :D

  • This is also for you my precious love.

    <3 O.O

  • I feel really sorry for 43 people.

  • I see a muppet

  • AH EU AMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ;)

  • why is it fast fowarded?

  • What makes this song work is that funky dancing bass line.

  • 1:39 fucka doodle goodle doo ?!?!

  • @andreduffy1 It was all good back then. You had good rock n roll, soul, R&B, disco, etc. I can't believe the stuff that passes for music these days.

  • this song is still hot today...played everywhere..thanx for the posting, Maria!

  • 40 dislikes...ha! it doesn't even show up on the ratings bar.

  • I find it quite odd the drummer man, needs to protect his head ! ! LOL..... Thats when they had that (oooohhh weeeeee) sticky icky.

  • Looks like Jack Black to me.....

  • jack black dont got nothin on tom johnston! tom was one sexy man!

  • Fire it up people!

  • Everybody let's rock

  • sounds better every time!

  • that time was music and professonial , instrument and exellent feelings

  • they are playing along with the studio track...it is obvious.

  • WTF is that drummer wearing on his head...must be pre-DEVO

  • Viajo nesse som...

  • Michael McDonald killed the Doobie Bros. in my opinion. Tom was a muuuuuuch better front man.

  • Still enjoy listening 70 music and never get bore.

  • great band

    good song

  • Turn this up and just close your eyes....good times.

  • Where's the banjo player?

  • @ChopstickBrando : This is likely the original track dubbed to this live performance clip. It's identical to the one I heard on the radio 939,867,143,475,874 times. No banjo to be seen...heard but not seen eh.

  • @treblejunkie of course ;-)

  • Spot the bass playerrr ! Cracking song - all those guitars Imalgamate into this timeless classic. I loved it in 75 - still love it now .

  • This song is BADASS!

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot....you do and you're proud. What ya call a field full of bigots? C4 experimental targets. LMAO. Hope yer KKK guy drives A.I.D.S. into your anal cavity, or down your throat. • Is there anyone on here who saw the doobie brothers concert in 1980 in San Antonio TX

  • I fuckin love this song. The 70's rule. Hey current artists, that thing he's playing is called a guitar. The Doobies had so much soul... love it

  • Para quem viveu nessa época ouvi-los faz bem à alma.

  • ha los 70 s que buena época .ahora ya estoy llegando a los 60s.

  • 40 people didnt listen to music...they listened to Justin Bieber instead....

  • @deepakbubna Die JB die! ha ha ha!

  • @deepakbubna Which is still music. So...OK.

  • @deepakbubna why is Justin Bieber mentioned in every video..I dont like the faget either but come up with something original

  • @deepakbubna There comes a point when the jokes get too old to be funny. Beiber isn't my cup-o-tea but I got no particular hate for him, he's not the Anti-Christ of Rock. Let it go.

  • Hair obviously was a disease in the 70's

  • @p4ndiamond

  • @hotstuffandicecream I actually grew up as a "little brother" to your generation. What a time that was..everyone was driving beat up station wagons,Volkswagon bugs, and those vans with painted Star Trek themes on the side,,stealing from convient stores, coming from dysfunctional families..but this music made it right.
