@IAmAndrewFord It's called satire, genius. This is from Darkplace, a TV show where the actors are playing actors in a fictitious TV show. If that makes sense.
@IAmAndrewFord There was a serial "horror" called the Kingdom (Danish TV I think).
Garth MArenghi's Darkplace is a parody of The Kingdom. BUT the actors PLAY actors and a moronic pulp fiction author (who are really fucked, a bit suss in their sexual orientation and attitudes and very pretentious). Together these three useless people (with a bit of cute skirt called Liz) run a hospital where portals to Hell and other horror themes are plotlines.
Thanks for uploading :) I bagged the Dark Place DVD as soon as it was released, and I've watched it far too many times since then! I love this kind of stuff - in fact, I'm off to watch the first episode again now :) lol. Thornton and his shotgun make me chuckle every time...
The best thing about this is I got most of the stuff he's talking about in lectures on my theatre course. I feel like such a wank looking back at it now.

One of the most fucking appaling (and also funny) examples of pommie TV humour. Loved it.
The best (my fave) was "Scotch Mist".... (I have friends who are Scots, one from Glasgow).

It is meant to be bad... (satire / parody).

Never seen as brilliant a critique on those godawful soap operas as this!

Great to have that famous "You and he were buddies, weren't you?" line so well deconstructed. Truly Shakespeare for our time.

I don't see Garth as an actor, he can act ... but I see him more as a dreamweaver.
