For those who don't want to spend a lot of time doing this by hand, you can find and use some cheap power tools for slightly more then a saw and file will cost you. Less if you have some of the things around. The three things you need are a pair of bits and a drill/screwdriver/rotary tool.
You could use a drill if you have one but most drills are heavy and hard to control. A power screwdriver that can also act as a drill would be your best bet there. The alternate is a rotary tool which can be as low as $5 more then a coping saw. With these tools you should be able to make a decent boomerang in about 15 minutes.
You left off a very important point .See if there is a bow in the wood (most wood is not perfectly flat ). Have the curved side bow upwards (when the boomerang is flat ) tips are slightly off a countertop /table surface . If the wood bows down it will not fly well or at all (for many triblades) . If you dint check this it will be 50 / 50 to not fly well .
Being me, I easily made myself a boomerang from a piece of red oak, a simple model with two blades. In the distant future I'll make a 3-bladed model, then a 4-bladed model, then one with 5 wings, and another with 6 wings, then another with 7 wings, and yet another with 8 wings. Why? Because I can! I am...the world's-most-brilliant woodworker.
For a left-handed boomerang, you would reverse which side the trailing edge (sharp tapered end) is on. A left handed boomerang will rotate clockwise when thrown. Keeping that in mind, make sure that you carve the airfoils so that the thick side will be aimed in the direction of rotation.
Excellent point. It is possible to throw a right-handed boomerang with your left hand, but it's kind of awkward. You would hold the boomerang with the beveled side towards your left, just as you would with your right hand. However, you would rotate your left hand clockwise about 10 degrees from vertical. The whip-like hand movement would be the same for throwing, but you'd have to hold the boomerang above your head so that you can wind up for enough power for your throw.
thanks it looks real cool and im excited to make it but where do i get ttheblueprints...i went on his website and there were a bunch if links and i couldnt find the right one

It's pretty sturdy. However, I would recommend that you throw it in a place where it would have a soft landing like an open grassy field or a park. I definitely would not throw boomerangs over hard surfaces like streets or concrete.
Yeah, it's designed for right-handed throws. In order to make a left-handed boomerang, you would just need to carve the airfoils on the opposite edges of each wing than what is shown in the video. Thanks for checking out my video :)
sure, just send me a message on here and I'll give you the link to this awesome boomerang plans website, or you could go on google and type in Pierre Kutek boomerangs.
The aerofoil or airfoil is the part of the boomerang wing that kind of slopes down. The front front of the airfoil is rounded and thick while the back of the airfoil is thin and sharp.

To find three plans for tribladed boomerangs:
go to boomerangpassion click on boomerang plans and search for one named burwell.
Google "kendal davis triblade" the first hit is a pdf plan for a triblade without a hole.
Go to rediboom. Choose the British flag on the bottom ( for english).. Click "construction plans on the lest. Choose "erics fast catch".

The two bits you need are:
----------------
A cutting bit like the Dremel 561 bit. A rasp bit. To see some use google images on rotary tool rasp. Sorry I can't post links here for more clarity.
Googling a bit you should find both bits for about 41.50 to $3.00 each.

Will sanding down the edges the way you showed work for a left handed thrower? Or do you need to sand down the opposite sides?

@karatefox Is there a top and bottom side to the boomerang? If not, couldn't you just flip it upside down for a left handed thrower?

i forgot to ask something..
What length are the wings on this video?
killedgrave 1 year ago
@killedgrave
In the video, the boomerang's wings are about 5 inches in length.
karatefox 1 year ago
ok thanks karatefox
killedgrave 1 year ago
can you please send me an construction plan?
killedgrave 1 year ago
@killedgrave
Wing dimensions: 8" X 3" X 1/4" thick
If the boomerang has three wings, each should have 120 degrees of separation
If the boomerang has two wings, they should be separated by about 90 and 115 degrees.
For a basic boomerang wing shape, try a rounded rectangle shape.
