  • one of my favorite places to go when i was a kid. its just sad how this and so many malls cant stay in business.truly sad

  • After being closed for a few years it reopened for the 2007 season and sadly, that was the last time it would be open. An attempt was made to revitalize it after pumping nearly 200 million dollars into it, the attraction had to file bankrupcy. Sadly, the love affair with the old westerns has somehow faded away with the majority of the public, there were simply not enought visitors to support it.

  • @SandhillDigger also the landslide..... :( Whatever happened after that? I heard there was talk of someone buying it again to revitalize it.... I really hoped they would. :(

  • @lumyrainstar Believe it or not, I just recently read where due to the economy, the Judge has lifted the bankrupcy ruling that will allow the attraction to be sold at an auction. Rumor is that the owner of a senic railroad may be interested. I hope so. If nothing else, As far as I am concerned they could close down and remove all of the rides up top and just have the chair lift and the town. That would reduce to cost of operation and people would not mind paying a much smaller price just

  • Rode by there on the way home earlier today and it appears to have been shut down and no upkeep. It seems a year or two has passed since in operation. Sad really, I remember my parents taking me there when I was a kid in the late 70's early 80's.

  • I loved ghost town. I went there for a camp trip

  • beautiful! I haven't been there in a really long time....
