Were you just testing the motor? Really, I don't think its a good Idea to use ANY negative pitch on or near the ground. When you do , you get a hard landing, or the boom hits the ground, and then things like this happen.
looked like it had slightly off tracking so something in the head was not working well,
if tracking isnt spot on you will get all sorts go wrong, noticably mushy cyclic response, twitching, general poor control, its not that bad so ether its pilot error or something in the head assembly isnt right, binding perhaps, these helis are usualy well built, most of the time its something the pilots has done or overlooked
the plastic head block had got reamed out by the shaft so it had a wobble i didn't detect so when i used negative thr the hea block forced the swash plate to tilt backwards
You had too much negative pitch at speed for Normal Mode, and probably your dampers were either shot or too soft. You slammed the throttle stick down full negative and had a boom strike because -10 degrees of pitch had nowhere to go on the ground.
As far as I can see, it looks like pilot error, not a defect in the helicopter.
If you beginner flyer, do not put to much negative on Normal mode. This is what happen if to much negative using training hear, the heli tend to push down while the training gear not level.
and forgot to put the screw, i started the heli with the throttle in reverse, the heli started full thr i held the head until the i could shut it off , i didnt burn the cluth because the head never head the center screw, i thought whew that was close.
but what i didnt know was that the rotor head center had become wider at the bottom causeing the head to see saw
i didnt now , so when the blades got to the right picvot smack down happened
I think main problem was main rotor blades being too loose look at about 8 seconds into video. what pitch range are you running and what swash do you have programmed into radio? since your just starting to fly i would not use more than -2 at bottom stick or even 0.
May want to have one hand on the blades when starting - if you have a hot start and are not holding on blades wip around into starter/you. Also looks like around a min when spooling up blades were going up/down - loose feathering shaft bolts?
they measured 550mm do you think that pitch @ stick pos 2 was -2 and thr was 40% could that have cause it to suck to the ground and then pitch backward until the tail hit the ground ? and if the tail fin had been stronger it would not have flexed enough to bend and allow the tail blade to stricj the ground , next trip around im gonna try and make a test bench
looks like pitch was reversed and you pulled back on the stick pretty hard. But still... shouldn't have happened. What were you tightening at the beginning of the video? Those the right main blades, and not too long?
it looked like the feathering shaft broke

cool heli though. Dampers are a nice tool.

Its called chop the throttle. not rear cyclic. But hey, we all learn and on heli's learnin is expensive. Welcome to the Heli Family.

Sorry for your loss, mate. Looks like you gave full up elevator, maybe instead of closing the throttle?
I like the virtual swastika tail rotor at around 0:54, but the little red ball rolling away from the wreckage is a classic :-)

Unlucky dude we all make mistakes,
You need the tail fin that goes down next tail drive
It helps to protect the tail blades hitting ground

lol your funny , and your answer is incorrect, few the Video Responses
the problem was a bad rotorhead.
i replaced it with a metal one.

well when i first got it, i installed the head
and forgot to put the screw, i started the heli with the throttle in reverse, the heli started full thr i held the head until the i could shut it off , i didnt burn the cluth because the head never head the center screw, i thought whew that was close.

Wow you had far too much deflection on them main blades, double check the feathering shaft and blade dampeners.
ninetalesfox 2 years ago
ill replace them , just becase thank you.
wcwickedclown 2 years ago
but would that have caused the swash to move ? watch it in slow moe

you work correct watch the video responce to see what the problem was.

hey nr sato welcome aboard, their is a swith to start it , my heli does not require glow stick.
and i agree looks like reverse pitch.
but stick position 2 was -2 and pos 3 was 70% i should have maybe used linaer curbs for 1 2 and 3.
amd no blades are 550mm
wcwickedclown 2 years ago
looks like pitch was reversed and you pulled back on the stick pretty hard. But still... shouldn't have happened. What were you tightening at the beginning of the video? Those the right main blades, and not too long?
