I agree Galactus is suppose well Galactus. However, let's not take it too out of context. Beta Ray Bill is a causal planet destroyer because he has Thor's powers and he doesn't hold back. If Thor fought like a god all the time then there would be no earth left to stand on. The vid above show what thor is capable of when he isn't restricted.

That is the rules of the playground for Thor. There is a panel on comic in which Thor explains that fighting earth heroes and villains weakens and limits him being a mortal. When Thor is fighting like a god that's entirely something else. Reference Beta ray bill the alien with Thor powers.

@aec111100 well they had a brief skirmish on Earth and Thor was already kinda pissed because he's wounded pretty bad at the moment. (not from surfer but he took it out on him anyway :P) plus galactus wants to take an artifact from odin that will make himself immortal so they have to fight to win.

Nope that was just an agitated Thor. Well he landed two heavy hits on surfer and surfer could really react but he didnt really "blitz" him. Needless to say its obvious that Thor was operating at a tremendous speed. Nope. :) Galaxtus had just been fed a while ago. He was unsatisfied but not starving at all. :)

It appears as though Thor is beating the Surfer. Been around comics a long time, believe me surfer and galactus would destroy the son of odin. Surfer always holding back his full power. Also it's up to the writer who will win,lose or draw.
P.S. Galactus would destroy odin also. Just my 5cents.

@type3581 They have a Marvel canon that can weigh the outcome. This wasn't the first time Thor defeated Galactus. Read some of the classics from the 60's and 70's. I'm too lazy to dig mine up to give you references.

Beta Ray Bill is a causal planet destroyer because he has Thor's powers and he doesn't hold back. If Thor fought like a god all the time then there would be no earth left to stand on. The vid above show what thor is capable of when he isn't restricted.

we know hulk can take thor, but i hate how weak galactus is made to look nowadays. everyone hurts/beats him now. powerful as odin is, he shouldn't be a threat to galactus. the g-man said so himself in chaos war. something about mere gods not being able to withstand a blast from galactus... of course zeus and company were able to due power from the big evil chaos god mika-what's-it, which of course surprised galactus.

Hulk can take Thor when Thor fights like a mortal. Hell superheroes like spider man/ wolverine can take Thor when he fights like a mortal. That's how Thor is 70 percent of the time on earth. That is the rules of the playground for Thor. There is a panel on comic in which Thor explains that fighting earth heroes and villains weakens and limits him being a mortal. When Thor is fighting like a god that's entirely something else. Reference Beta ray bill the alien with Thor powers.

@aec111100 well they had a brief skirmish on Earth and Thor was already kinda pissed because he's wounded pretty bad at the moment. (not from surfer but he took it out on him anyway :P) plus galactus wants to take an artifact from odin that will make himself immortal so they have to fight to win.

No offense, but I can't read this. The print is too small (even in large screen), and you go from one scene to another WAY too quickly. I LOVE comics, but I need to be able to read it first. Thanks for listening (and, no, I will not downthumb this vid, if you care one way or the other).

The speed was a bit much but the pause button makes that easy enough to overcome.

Honestly though, I've seen better (SirJohnCool, as an example, even though he can sometimes be a bit too quick for my taste/ability to see-20/40 vision, sadly :( ) . That being said, I thanl him for posting a intereting sounding comic for thos who can see properly and can afford better than second hand, yesteryear monitors.

They're always making Thor or Silver Surfer weaker than they really are, but make some unsympathetic Hulk stronger than he is...If some stupid writer doesn't like the fact that Thor or SS are stronger than Hulk, he just creates a new Hulk with new abilities and powers...I read some where thst Hulk closed a black hole with his bare hands! WTF?! Thats ridiculous! Even for the Marvel Universe!

@DesertHunter24 Yeah...you are absolutely right, maybe the individual creator of Thor and The Hulk (I don't know if is the same creator) does not want one character really being overpowering the other one that's why if one gets weaker then in the next issue gets more abilities or more power to be even or surpass its counterpart; Futhermore, what you said about Hulk closing a Black hole with his bare hand not only is VASTLY ilogic but also absurd...

Nope that was just an agitated Thor. Well he landed two heavy hits on surfer and surfer could really react but he didnt really "blitz" him. Needless to say its obvious that Thor was operating at a tremendous speed. Nope. :) Galaxtus had just been fed a while ago. He was unsatisfied but not starving at all. :)
