What you can do is place the Cigarette lighter plug in a box and hardwaire it under the dash. I do this for people who want to hardwire their Garmin Oregon to their bike as there is no aftermarket version available.
Another loose antenna wire in my car is not quite ideal though. Neither is another tech thingy to put away every time you park your car. Else sooner or later some dope head will try to break open your car to steal your stuff.
