I started jogging this morning and only lasted for 5 secs because my heart was pumping too fast and I couldn't catch my breath. Is this because my heart needs more cardio? or just because I didn't slow my breath down?
How does your resporitory system compensate if your muscles are more in demand for oxygen? I don't get it. The harder your muscles work the more oxygen your body needs. What am I missing here, are you fucking with us?
ahaha wtf?? the faster you go the slower your breathing should be??? what kind of bullshit is that?
It's about breathing the proper amount, proportional to amount of force you're exerting, and keeping your breathing constant and EXHALING FULLY(eliminating CO2 buildup which causes you to fatigue faster).
I usually inhale for two steps and exhale for two steps when I go long distances. For sprinting 200 or 100m, I'll actually hold my breath for the first 10m when I'm driving out then breath in with two steps and breath out with two steps like my long distance, but much faster
wow i didnt know you have to slow down your breathing when you run fast i thought you have to coordinate the movment of your legs with your breathing.
is it the same if you're running the 100m or 200 m ?
I think his explanation might confuse a few people because while slow breathing is ideal in most situations especially long distance runs, if you want optimal performance in a short sprint (100m or 200m) then you want to speed up your breathing to match your movement. Just keep in mind, joggin or marathon races keep a slow steady breathing technique, and fast sprints keep a faster technique.
very nice info, thanks a bunch mate. I ran out and tested this, breathing slowly (but not too slowly like some people do) and i ran quite a bit more than usual. I think this is the first time my legs have felt like quitting before my lungs :D
good info. the average person takes only so many brreaths a year keep that number the same just longer deeper more conscious breaths they help u focus as well
He should be wearing like a cape or trench coat or have long hair or something. He would looks so epic
