  • So awesome!!

  • Where can you get the Sakura micro pen???

  • looks like a clone

  • Thats an awesome job man! How long have you been painting?

  • White..... Aghhhhh. The bane of my life Xd

  • Does skull white go one the entire model?

  • So good, my white scars will look great thanks to this.

  • does it matter if you paint them your own colours ?? awesome job btw :P

  • this amazes me because i cant get white to work as a main color, it always comes out messy looking and dries dirty lookin

  • Snake Leather look like poo

  • which paint brushes did you use?

  • it looks like it transformed from a pokeball XD

  • Even nicer than par 1! Thanks a lot!

  • What vallejo colors did you use?

  • It was pretty cool until u used make up o what taht was

  • what do you use as a basecoat? or none at all and go straight to the Black Wash?

  • awesome vid, but its making me dizzy xD

  • would you be able to use chaos black or something and drybrush the weathering in instead? looks awesome btw :P

  • Drybrush will look very differently, but could work nicely also.

To get this specific look, try glazing on black.

  • whoa that is amazing! i will use this tutorial it will help alot thx!

  • Here the part i have problem.. After doing fortress gray.. When i apply skull white.. My model turn out super lumpy.. Something about skull white that make stuff lumpy for reason i dont understand..

I learn about apply it in washes or thincoat.. but i dont know what the measurement of the water to skull white.. It just one of the most baffling phase for me.. Need HELP!

  • @redeye117 thin ur paint down more. try 1 to 1 with water if thats still lumpy add more water. see what works best for you.

  • @awsomepaintjob uhh i bought the warhammer 40k citadel paint set with 5 space marines... andd they have the ultra marine sign moulded on the shoulder pads but i wwant to paint white scars

what should i do? please respond thank you

  • I would eat this. Seriously.

  • Not fair! You're going to make mine look like crap!

  • This is the reason why I subscribed to you.

Great work, man. I'm going to get started on mine right away

  • this has got to be the best lookin white scar paint job ive seen

  • How long did it take you to be this good????

  • I am the White scar chapter :D

  • I LOVE your painting style/teknic

  • anyone have any tips for getting the consistancy of white correct?

  • do u prime with astronimcal Grey

  • Hey, which chapter do you like the most to paint AND is really badass?

  • i find whate scars hard, the red stains the white so easily

  • I have to say that this tutorial makes white scars seem a little less daunting. My main concern would be just making sure to get the consistency of the white correct so it doesn't go on really thick and clumpy. Do you use about 50/50 paint to water for the white? I can usually get the reds, blues and greens consistent with water, but white, always been a issue.

  • I like the helm of a model. Why is it different from a usual one? Man i want it for myself))

  • how many did u make of these??

  • when you do skull white, how much do you mix it up with water?

  • Its not hard to do at all thought

  • really really cool nice job

  • hey mate, what size sakura micron are you using? like how many mills?

  • Your tutorial helped me make my White Scars look great! Thanks for the help.

  • Hey! I was just wondering if you were going to do a Taurans scheme, I've thought they were awesome ever since DOW2.

  • Hey! I was just wondering if you were going to do a Taurans scheme I've thought they were awesome ever since DOW2.

  • My first warhammer army were space marines and i made them ultramarines and they don't look good because they were my first models. I was thinking to repaint them but i just don't know a good method of taking the paint of them and start a new paint job. If someone knows can you please send me a message on my youtube account.

  • weird.... at the end of part one the entire marine was coated fortress grey... and now all back to white?

  • white armor does get dirty fast :p

  • when you say "thin coats" what are we talking 2:1, 1:1, 1:2?

  • white scars rule!

  • where can i download the video in a whole not 2 pieces? BTW thankyou for the tut when i get my space marine my army is gunna look awesome tahnks oh and where do you get the pen that you used to write on the parchment

  • i love how a simple touch like the weathering made it looks more awesome than it was before . :)

  • where can you get one of those little pen things for writeing on the purity seal ?

  • And I thought my little guys looked good.

This makes them look like a puddle of mud

  • Jesus how long this took you?

  • @TheCanadianLeader about 45 minutes is what I spend on a troop model.

  • holy cow! i spend 2 hrs on my scars.

  • @awesomepaintjob Do you get a production line going to do a couple of these models simultaneously?

  • @awesomepaintjob WOW REALY it takes me like triple that your like my god now

  • @awesomepaintjob is it possible for us to pay you to paint us one? but we have the materials just asking >.<

  • @awesomepaintjob Jesus, don't you wish it was easier?

  • @TheCanadianLeader Beauty takes time Mate.

  • bellissimo!!!

  • Hey, awesome model, I was wondering, can I find this particular space marine model in any Space Marine kit? Or is it a combination from several other kits? Would greatly appreciate the help!

  • @Einhander0000 He's from the Assault on Black Reach box.

  • k thanks

  • sorr ybout sending message twice :P

  • Cool Chris! Be sure to post a slide show on youtube of you white scars and tag it to this vid as a response! I'm sure we would all like to see :)

  • thanks it might take a while because i dont get much pocket money but we'll see - cant wait to start them they seem so fun to paint _ awesome

  • would it work if u spray painted it chaos black first or can u spray paint it skull white first?

wats the thing under the blu-tac

  • What does 1:1 mean ? Because I'm still a beginner learning

  • 1 part water to 1 part paint.

  • hee man where did you get the weathering kit? love the model man keep it up take care bro

  • What brush size you generally used for the miniatures??

  • the brushes I use are at the end of all the SM tutorials. reaper and blick studio kolinsky brushes both size 0.

  • Ok cool thx alot ;)

  • 2 questions for you:

    1. Why do you prefer white primer/ does black primer work as well?

    2. Would a watered down GW black ink substitute for the black body wash you use?

Good job on all your models, keep it up!

  • 1. I just like white primer. Black covers easy over white but the opposite is trouble.

    2. Yes GW black wash works fine. Girlpainting uses it to do the same thing and I loved the result and added it to my steps.

  • awesome 5/5

  • not nit picking at the detail but its nice to see you cut your nails! LOL

  • Only because they were making my nose bleed.

  • I find your tutorials so relaxing and quite entrancing keep them coming

  • Sweet job Les! See ya on vent

    Cat/

  • Great vid man! like always! :D

  • Thanks! The tutorials were made for new guys. Simple tutorials as a foundation and adjust from there. :)

  • in noticed i use a tiny brush for everything, and rarely awitch, but you use a large brush for everything lol

  • Everythime I watch one of your vids, the only word that comes to mind IS awsome! Love your stuff man, I always learn something new watching you work! :)

  • hihi! i love yr brush! any tips on keeping it so sharp? :D

  • I clean mine in masters cleaner soap like every 10 minutes and condition it every week. It keeps it nice and sharp :)

  • every 10 mins? wow thats alot! thanks!!! :D

  • "awesome paint job" as always Les, these video's are a HUGE resource for people looking for painting schemes. Thanks for putting them out there.

    Cat

  • question about the weathering set, would that rub off on your fingers ect if you don't seal it right away? Also could you get a similar effect by drybrushing a brown/black in those same areas using paint?

  • Yes the weathering stuff will come off thats why it is done last just before varnish. Paint would leave brush strokes. Pigments are best for realism, dry loose or compressed like the tamiya compact.

  • great paint job

  • brilliant Les, very nice and im glad you got it nice and weathered :) happy to see another video from you, keep it up!

  • I am excited to see how you'll paint the Celestial Lions.

  • hehe I know when I got to the weathering part everyone was like "NOOOO! NOT OVER THE CLEAN WHITE!" lol sorry but this white scar works for a living...... killing..... not spit shining his armor :P

  • (Sinister Brain here)

As always, excellent tut, Les. Glad to see Sony got you fixed up.
