Here the part i have problem.. After doing fortress gray.. When i apply skull white.. My model turn out super lumpy.. Something about skull white that make stuff lumpy for reason i dont understand..
I learn about apply it in washes or thincoat.. but i dont know what the measurement of the water to skull white.. It just one of the most baffling phase for me.. Need HELP!
@awsomepaintjob uhh i bought the warhammer 40k citadel paint set with 5 space marines... andd they have the ultra marine sign moulded on the shoulder pads but i wwant to paint white scars
I have to say that this tutorial makes white scars seem a little less daunting. My main concern would be just making sure to get the consistency of the white correct so it doesn't go on really thick and clumpy. Do you use about 50/50 paint to water for the white? I can usually get the reds, blues and greens consistent with water, but white, always been a issue.
My first warhammer army were space marines and i made them ultramarines and they don't look good because they were my first models. I was thinking to repaint them but i just don't know a good method of taking the paint of them and start a new paint job. If someone knows can you please send me a message on my youtube account.

where can i download the video in a whole not 2 pieces? BTW thankyou for the tut when i get my space marine my army is gunna look awesome tahnks oh and where do you get the pen that you used to write on the parchment
Hey, awesome model, I was wondering, can I find this particular space marine model in any Space Marine kit? Or is it a combination from several other kits? Would greatly appreciate the help!
Ah, nice 'n' clean and then BAMM! The weathering puts this guy in the 41st Millennium! I like the way that you make your videos. They're so precise with no unnecessary content. By the way, how come you've only used one edging highlight so far in this tutorial series? Is it down to personal preference? No, there's nothing wrong with it, but I was just curious... Keep it up man! Your videos are destined to gain lots of interest. Space Marines = Popular. Tutorials = Very popular. Both?
Everythime I watch one of your vids, the only word that comes to mind IS awsome! Love your stuff man, I always learn something new watching you work! :)
question about the weathering set, would that rub off on your fingers ect if you don't seal it right away? Also could you get a similar effect by drybrushing a brown/black in those same areas using paint?
Yes the weathering stuff will come off thats why it is done last just before varnish. Paint would leave brush strokes. Pigments are best for realism, dry loose or compressed like the tamiya compact.
hehe I know when I got to the weathering part everyone was like "NOOOO! NOT OVER THE CLEAN WHITE!" lol sorry but this white scar works for a living...... killing..... not spit shining his armor :P
gah your brush's tips are so perfect and fine, i would love to get one like that but in australia i dont know where i can order them :(

Drybrush will look very differently, but could work nicely also.
To get this specific look, try glazing on black.

2 questions for you:
1. Why do you prefer white primer/ does black primer work as well?
2. Would a watered down GW black ink substitute for the black body wash you use?
Good job on all your models, keep it up!
Jokeyboy007 2 years ago
1. I just like white primer. Black covers easy over white but the opposite is trouble.
2. Yes GW black wash works fine. Girlpainting uses it to do the same thing and I loved the result and added it to my steps.
