I think that Laird purposely kept it ambigious as to what was going on between Karai and Chaplin, though the Leo/Karai thing was shown to have existed AT LEAST up until Exodus Part 2.
After that, it's really up to the viewer's perception.

I like the 2003 series better. I could never get into the old series as well, I didn't like the shredder in those, and the turtles were too....bubbly. I mean, they even look like they are ballons or soemthin'. They act more like teenagers do in the new series too. I don't mind the old series, but this one is the way to go.

In the Official Comics, shown in the future scenes, Leo's Soul Mate (actual words used) is a human as well.
Yeah, so the Species barrier isn't a problem here.

She and Leo are noted as soulmates in her final appearance but she is killed by her archenemy Complete Carnage in Tales of the TMNT Vol 2 #41

these aren't technically deleted scenes, rather bonus clips that they were required to make for the konami tmnt video games. But since mirage cancelled the contract to make the movie game with ubisoft, they just became cutting room floor. thanks for the post

I like the 2003 series better. I could never get into the old series as well, I didn't like the shredder in those, and the turtles were too....bubbly. I mean, they even look like they are ballons or soemthin'. They act more like teenagers do in the new series too. I don't mind the old series, but this one is the way to go.

Ditto. Even though I'm sure most of us grew up with the old one, it's time to move on. I do miss Krang though. Krang is the only thing from the old 80's cartoon that I truly still enjoy, even today.

you guys are losers. This incarnation of the Teenage Mutant HERO turtles is stupid. They are too bulky, the white eyes suck, and the voices are not even teenage.

It's called a typo. Anyone with a brain about the turtles know that it is HERO turtles. This version of the turtles is just lame. The look, the style, all suck.
1st movie was that last thing to do the turtles justice

No, it's Ninja Turtles to you guys in Britan because you're too sensitive for the word Ninja. Anyone with at least 2% of a brain knows that it's been Ninja Turtles since 1984.
And you're right, the new show is lame. What with it's deep writting, complex storylines, amazing animation, top notch voice cast, faithful interpertations of the original Mirage Comic characters, dark themes, and villans who actually pose a friggen threat.
