When I order a complete from online and click the add bearing spacer button they will give me the correct ones that fit in the complete I order right?
To everyone asking, most trucks will use 8x10mm spacers. When you buy your trucks, you SHOULD be able to tell the 2mm difference between axle sizes. Most companies have ditched the idea of 10mm axles.
I'm going to get Randal RII Width 180mm Actual (Axle) Width: 9.75" Trucks, and Sector 9 Diameter: 72mm Width: 52mm... So what size Spacer do I need to get??
thanks alot man i really needed to know this because i have a penny, and i still left the little jiggle space even though i had the spacer ring in there aswell....so yea thanks man
@deadlydaddies yeaa me and my friend found out the problem. It had spacers, just the website gave me 2 bad bearings so they gave me new ones and it fixed it :D but I just have one more question, that same wheel is really loose on the truck and slides around unlike all the other ones, ive loosened it tightened it tons of times, and its still really loose. Any help?
PLEASE REPLY @ 1:33, is that how you put the bearings and bearing spacer on the trucks, and then to apply them on the wheel you just push the wheel in???
What if the inside seat of the wheel is smaller than the bearing spacer? Spacers are usually a hair wider than 10mm. This means my bearings will not be sitting right in the wheel, which makes my wheel move from side to side over my bearings. Why doesn't the inside of the wheel match the width of the bearing spacer, even when they are both suppose to be 10mm or .400?
@skateboardtech the spacers and cast just like trucks which means there can be very minor imperfections, you can get precision spacers that are exactly the right size.
Hey, I just got a rayne vendetta with paris 180s, reds, and otang stimuluses, and one of my wheels barely spin. I think it might be because i dont have bearing spacers maybe? And if I do, what are the ones I should get?
well I have bearing spacers and I still have to give my wheels a little room or they won't spin . . . I really don't wanna buy precision spacers either.
@CooKidMcRib when I clean my bearings I usually just wipe them clean and put some lube on, but for a deep clean I take the sheilds off and let them soak in some acetone.
@PERRONmedia hah! me either my bearings are Reds, and for me it's an amazing bearing but the only thing is you have to take care of it,coz it's a pretty sensitive..
@PERRONmedia they have a crazy fast roll speed, faster then other wheels for sure. But the slide is icy which I don't like very much. They are fun but no my kinda wheel.
@Zipo214 damn near any skate shop. At least I know that most longboard shops online sell them, like muir, daddies, Motion.....etc. Just check around. I know that Motion Board Shop has free shipping on all US orders
i use bearing spacers and speed rings on my big zigs with bones swiss and the spacers that came with the bearings, and the only way to get them to roll properly is to leave a little jiggle room but as soon as i tighten them snugg they spin for like 1 second. what should i do?
this is actually quite true i have otang stimulus yellows and my slides are very chattery compared to my freinds that has spacers also my axel has slightly bent over time
i have a ly switch wit bears 852s and zombie hawgs, i got it at my local shop and it didnt come with bearing spacers, i bought some that fit, they let me put them on at the store but they made my wheels make a terrible crunching/ binding sound whenever i carve. i tried different tightness levels and everything, ps this isnt my first rodeo im just stumped, so i took them off and now ride without them, any tips on what could b the problem
@Tall747 they make your slides smoother, being able to tighten your wheels down makes for less slop, which is less stress on your axles, which means they stay strait longer, also less torque on your bearings makes them last longer as well.
@Mclovinurvids well if you have biltin bearings you can't take them spacers out, they are built into the bearing..... but do like in my "hints & tips: changing wheels" video hang your wheel off the end of the axle and twist.
i have spacers but when i tighten the bolt the wheel doesnt spin as free. i put everything on correct and i have bone swiss bearings. i loosin the bolt a little bit and it spins pretty good. is that ok to do? it doesnt wobble crazy but just a tad, tad, little bit. let me know whats up thanks.
@bboysince87 I know what your talking about, sometimes you do have to let the wheels wiggle a bit because regualr bearing spacers are not CNC'ed so they may not be the exact right size, so thats probably whats going on, nothing worry about, a little wobble is better then a lot.
@PERRONmedia I got the same problem as bboysince87 but I let the wheels spin a little bit slower bcoz i have heard that losing it up isn't very healthy for the board. Should I loose them up a bit or keep them tight but spin a little bit slower? It goes fast in hills anyway :P
@alteam I would loosen them, but really just a little bit, a quarter turn at most and see how that goes. if there spinning slower then there is more friction then normal, and over time that can become a problem. But I understand what your talking about It happens to me at times as well. In situations like that the best thing to do is go with your instinct. As long as the wheel spins pretty well, and doesn't shake back and forth like japan your set
@eatsleepandskate1 the standard 8mmx10mm bearing spacers should be the way to go, but I have never used arbor wheels so I would email them to be sure.
@Ganbertuli nope, the only time you need 10mm x 10mm bearings is if you have a 10mm axle, bear 1040s and 1052s have 10mm axles for example. for your trucks and abec11 wheels and damn near every wheel you will need an 8mm x 10mm spacer. kryptonics have a smaller hub then most other wheels. and every cast truck other then some bears have 8mm axles.
