  • Kif Kroker?

  • NOCNOTCAUGHT listen not to these other bassoons , I liked your video and I learned some things from it . These people are haters and are products of a system that says criticism works ! I for one think your video ROCKED !!!! YEAH GREAT JOB NOCNOTCAUGHT !!

  • "It looks like a big...chocolate chip cookie with peacans... or a warty toad skin depending on which part of the world you're from." lmao this guys so baked!

  • the (scum) is from the copper home boy

  • XD WTF?

  • Are you high, man??? Yeah.... man.... I want some wine man.... let's drink once more....

  • hahah YOu Are lOOSER !!

  • What in the fuck is wrong with guy!!??!?

  • Ha, ha, ha - this happens when you apply electrolysis to alcohol

  • blatantly been drinking meths

  • That was really gay.

  • u sound like yr super stoned

  • u sound like droopy dog

  • @darksideofthebrick13 LOL. you got that right

  • WTH is wrong with your voice?

  • lol you sound like Dr Evil

  • LOL .... God, you sound as if you are drunk

  • u fucking idot i am 16 an i can tell the "misterius brown scum" is iron oxide i cannot give you a correct half equason because i do not know what salts are alreddy in the water (fyi tap water is an elotrolite)

  • I'm guessing you have never won a spelling bee.

  • @kcaj117 you might be right, but iron oxide is 5x denser than water, so iron oxide would likely sink, plus where would the iron oxide be coming from? Its possible I suppose if he were using a stainless steel electrode.

There is the possibility that the guck is formed from electolysis of the solute, I suspect that might be something like sodium hydroxide actually.

  • @Wcoltd nevermind he says he doesn't use electrolyte

  • @kcaj117 jeez calm down nerd

  • @kcaj117 good for you, anyone who knows a decent bit about chemistry and electrolysis could tell you that, but you don't have to be a smart ass about it you little bitch. respect your elders, is there a problem with trying to tell him nicely what you think it is? it makes you feel better to put other people down.

  • @kcaj117 its spelled (electrolyte) kid

  • WTF

  • you are very dumb and mad . your video is very..............................booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooring

  • Ive had that same brown green film form in between the anode and cathode using tap water, I had both clamped from outside the beaker to eliminate that possibility. And it got worse with the addition of an electrolyte. Any clue on what it is? As for the rest of you didn't your parents ever teach you to respect your elders?

  • use distilled water

  • how much volts and amps is ideal for electrolysis of h20

  • are you drunk ?????

  • Couldn't you make next to pure sodium hydroxide by adding table salt to water and separating the chlorine from the sodium causing it to bond to the h20?

  • Sodium Hydroxide is also known as Caustic Soda, and Lye. It's used as a cleaner. I don't know where you can get it in pure form. You could try your local hardware store, or a chemist.

  • he sounds like that cartoon dog thet talks like a retard

  • Please be nice to the mentally challenged. They are people too.

I believe the cartoon dog you are speaking of is Deputy Droopalong also know as Droop or Droopy. Admittedly I have thrown my voice way too far for this video. Thanks for watching.

  • St0nEd much!!! XD

  • Not since I was about 25.

  • what the fuck are you doing on you tube with a vice like that mate

  • mate? Do you come from the land down under?

  • Mad Scientist, Sheesh!

  • Yes I get mad a lot lately!

  • dude you sound baked XD

  • Not since I was about 25.

  • his mother put him up to this, to overcome her sons embarrasment. Read boy Read the paper.

  • Actually he's talking like a moron to try and get through to most of the people watching this.

  • Finally - somebody with a brain - thanks man.

  • dude, next time make a video while u r not electrolized urself.....into natrium and chloride

  • ok smart guy - I dropped 800 grams of oil coated natrium into the pond behind the biology lab from the second story chem lab window once - quite a reaction!

  • @kenlauw22 that was funny wow lmfao

  • i love the way you talk! recon thats how Einsteine would talk hehe

  • you sure you don't have throat cancer?

  • Peter Lorre Lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You need your anode and cathode in isolated areas. One half will produce Hydrogen and the other Oxygen.

  • I knew bela lugosi was still alive.

  • worst video ever

  • srsly, he sounds drunk or high

  • use salt and it makes chlorine, sodium hydroxide, and sodium chlorate

  • Oh yeah - that "scum" is corrosion. It doesn't sink, because the corrosion has infused very small bubbles.

    ps

you need to get out of your lab.

  • This guy must get all the ladies.

  • The washers are touching, it won't work if they positive and negative touch in any way.

  • i have got the scum to butt it has to be something in the water beacose i have stuck strait mettle and still got the scum

  • I feel sorry for the water having to sit there listening to your freaky fake voice.

  • What the duece?

  • is it just me or dose this guys voice make u want to put a bullet in your head?

  • It looks like a big chocolate chip cookie...with pecans

So we are drinking some nasty sh*t then...or a chocolate chip cookie, with pecans.

  • omg what's up with the voice?

  • Um dude. You are taking the slow boat top china. The water is SO bored its trying to get out..

  • hahaha - I think you're right!

  • lmao, boring!, i did that 3 times as fast!

  • Was it turned on? I couldn't see it!

  • basically were aiming for a molecular splitting effect dialed in to waters natural resonant frequency. anything water soluble would therefore breakdown with the water around it. also, being that this is not a pulse circuit setup, the constant electrolysis causes added pull on the molecule from both directions. when the water does break, the energy has to be expressed, and thats why theres a temperature raise. with all these high temp explosions goin on, we may be burning residual chemicals.

  • i made a very similar setup using stainless steel wall covers (like for a light switch in your house but with no center slot) and nylon screws/washers/nuts.

i found that using spring water solves the scum problem. im pretty sure its got a lot to do with the chlorine in the water. lime might have an effect as well. i also added table salt to the spring water after a while and that made it start producing scum.

    hope this helps

  • u need to use salt. and oh yea... that retard who said that was chlorine is a retard... it would rise to the top. u aren't using stainless steel, so what is happening is you're breaking down the steel into iron and zinc. Zinc is green and Iron is grey.

  • you need to add about 2 tbl spoons of salt per cup to make the water conduct

  • Is that Alfred Hitchcock narrating? Not to say its a boring video but I fell asleep halfway through.

  • uummmmmm... ok then its wat u said.but still. seems like chlorine to me.

  • LOL! Thats halarious after watching about 50 of these vids. I've actually heard "the bubbles are forming quite rapidly" in other vids.

  • ;-)

  • LOL! Thats halarious after watching about 50 of these vids. I've actually heard "the bubbles are forming quite rapidly" in other vids.

  • I had green mossy crap on mine. It came from using plated steel. Copper will do this too. Copper is brown to dark brown.

  • that green mossy crap is chlorine. it got there from the salt u used. i suggest going to the hospital if neccasary

  • were you trying to sound like droopy or were you doing it unintentionally?

  • I was throwing my voice but had no intention of sounding like droopy.

  • You sound like droopy :)

  • Wow - I never thought about that but you're absolutely right! hahaha!! Good old Deputy Droop-along and Sheriff Ping Ping Ping Ricochet Rabbit! That's really funny!!!

  • thank you!!!! it worked! !!!YAY!!! if i win out of my class it will own!

  • i have a question wen i put the wires in (i use a six volt battery) the negative wire creates hydrogen but the positive wire doesnt create oxygen plz answer fast i have a project do tommorow

  • Cathode(-) will yield H2 the annode(+) will yield O2. The ratio remember is 2:1 (H2)(0)so you will always get twice the H output. The annode is an oxidation reaction. What are you using for your electrodes? You could try adding electrolyte like salt or baking soda. Be sure to ventilate!

  • The scum is a combination of impurities in the water, such as iron and sulpher along with polytonic ions and hydroxide which is a chemical byproduct of the electrical process with the water.

  • You are kidding right?

Are you trying to imitate John Aarons?

  • ;-)

  • This vid was a fun poke in response to J. Aarons curtly explaining to me in one of his videos that he did not have time to stick an ohm meter in a sample of his tap water. He continually used the term capacitor for his arrays which can not have any capacitative effect if the water is at all electrically conductive - a critical point he chose to ignore. He apologized for his curt response and now clarifies that the arrays are not capacitors.

  • danm your smart

  • I think it is iron in your whater. I had the same thing happen to me too. it's better to use distilled water. and plastic washers will work better. if you can keep the volts as low as you can and push more amp;s into it the cell it will make more gas and not heat the water like voltage will. good luck

  • The scum is composed of a lot of stuff, mainly iron. Only use distilled water in your cell. Add baking soda to make it conductive. It also will neutralize any acids and keep it white and happy. Also if your washers can be picked up with a strong magnet they are not high grade enough to avoid this brownish effect in the water and over a few weeks will be damaged and worn. Only use pure non magnetic stainless.Only distilled water.Only use baking soda

  • Try using red vinegar. Soda is caustic and will erode most materials. Vinegar is slightly acidic, will raise conductivity and not erode stainless.

  • Apparently, Caustic Soda (Sodium Hydroxide) is the best electrolyte to use. (Which I found surprising, but there it is) It is neutral, and acts only as a catalyst. Other chemicals also participate in the reaction, and can produce noxious substances.

Salt, for example, will give off chlorine.

  • This is cute and funny... but I feel that you are trying to say that "this won't work" you are very far off then. This technology more than work. I use it to run our lawn mower already, you need to learn how to tweek it properly. At the same time, I think you are just making fun of John and that is cute. He'll laugh I did.

  • I would like to see the lawn mower video. I agree with the idea that hydrogen will work as a fuel and that electricity will separate the hydrogen and oxygen atoms of a water molecule but you and John need to sharpen your scientific methods.

  • LOL...I get it :)

  • ;-)
