@OxBigly2010 Several have reminded me. Although I never thought of Lister as fussy and detail oriented. The chili worked, although not precisely the same recipe. Same could be said of my vindaloo recipes too.
Sorry, dude, you got the recipe all wrong. It's not fried egg, CHILI and chutney, but rather fried egg, CHILI SAUCE and chutney. Big difference. Look up the text online, it's from the "Thanks for the Memory" episode. Knowing Lister, it would probably be an Indian style red chili sauce, something like Maggi Extra Hot Chilli Sauce.
Yum I want one now...2 30 am NOT... but I try it soon

to quote rimmer from that episode:
all the ingridients are wrong. Eggs Wrong, chilli Wrong, chutney, Wrong, bread wrong. yet when you put them together, you get something good.
you lister are a triple fried egg, chili chutney sandwhich.

Tried multiple versions of this lol
1)Same recipe, using mango chutney.
2)Same recipe, using cylandro chutney.
3)Same recipe, with any chutney at hand + a few layers of Bacon.
I must say the one with mango chutney was the best, if you absolutely want some meat inside, throw in some Bacon, it's delicious.
WarrenAch 11 months ago
@WarrenAch I used mango chutney also and the chili had beans and beef.

You got the recipe wrong, you're supposed to use chili sauce instead of chili.

TRIPLE sandwich..... with CHILLI SAUCE!!!! You recipe is wrong!!!

i love Red Dwarf! I wanna make this sandwich!
bilstonjay 1 year ago
It's a sandwich so why have you toasted the bread? The Whole point is it's suppose to be a big sloppy mess of a sandwich hence why Lister loves it!
Cashback13 1 year ago
@Cashback13 Yeah, But you really can't eat it in real life with floppy bread, lol
oFRoZENViPER 1 year ago
@oFRoZENViPER That wouldn't stop Lister!

Awesome! I've just had one for my breakfast, except as a nice timesaver I used Branston's hot chilli and jalapeno relish, works a treat!

I salute your bravery in making this sandwich. The episode always made me wonder if someone would really do it, and now I'm honestly tempted to :D
