@hoppersmash well.....i have to admit...training, ha, he's not well trained. He's about two and a half years old in the latter part of the video. My dad trained dogs in a prison...i just never worked with Lou Man. He wants to eat anything that moves...but I never worry about intruders!

hey i wonder if any of u guys can help. iv got a 6 month old american bulldog which iv had since he was 4 weeks old and every time i walk him on the street he always walks like 1 mile an hour and sniffs the floor non stop!! it pisses me off so bad and end up draggin him by his coller and i no this must hurt but i cant help it!! hes fine walking on the lead in the park or woods ONLY on busy street roads and its soo embarrising to!!

you got to act like an alpha dog....and about the sniffing that's common it is all about territorial and exploring ...your dog thinks his job is to sniff around give him a task to do while walking .
Well, for one... a dog's nose is hundred of more times sensitive than ours...so just think about all the smells he is picking up. Maybe take a treat with you and make him pay attention to you while you're walking. When a dog gets out its like a buffet of smells from people to animals to food that's what dogs do. Maybe jog with him and say things like "come on!" in a playful voice to get him to pay attention to you. don't pull on him...that only makes you look mean and i'm sure it does hurt him.
Well.... It is important that the dog see's you as leader or 'Alpha"... That means when you play tug of war YOU Always win.. or almost always.. It means taking toys away and putting them out of reach at random.. Not letting him jump up on furniture etc.Not to be mean but to let him know his place in the pack.. Your dog won't feel bad about it, he'll be happy to know where he stands and in turn more apt. to follow you.. When he stops tp sniff give a firm 'NO!" and a corrective tug..
I know it sounds a bit mean... But there are lot's of little things like this that can add up to a MUCH more well behaved and balanced animal.. You must be the leader all the time.. Even when you play.. Teaching him to heal properly will help too.. By that I mean basic lead training.. there are a lot of good books on how to do it.. I had an A.B. 135 lbs. of Awesome! So I speak from experience.. Good Luck!

Nice dog - Its a shame alot of them get let down or are given a bad name by poxy humans, I walk around with my American Bulldog & get funny looks from people who have not got a clue.

Louie is gorgeous! I love his 'natural' ears and tail and those big floppy lips. My girl had lips like that. I loved to watch them flop as she would run to me!! Hello Louie! Thank you for sharing.

hey i wonder if any of u guys can help. iv got a 6 month old american bulldog which iv had since he was 4 weeks old and every time i walk him on the street he always walks like 1 mile an hour and sniffs the floor non stop!! it pisses me off so bad and end up draggin him by his coller and i no this must hurt but i cant help it!! hes fine walking on the lead in the park or woods ONLY on busy street roads and its soo embarrising to!!
so any help on how to stop him doin this wud b well appreciated

you got to act like an alpha dog....and about the sniffing that's common it is all about territorial and exploring ...your dog thinks his job is to sniff around give him a task to do while walking .

Well, for one... a dog's nose is hundred of more times sensitive than ours...so just think about all the smells he is picking up. Maybe take a treat with you and make him pay attention to you while you're walking. When a dog gets out its like a buffet of smells from people to animals to food that's what dogs do. Maybe jog with him and say things like "come on!" in a playful voice to get him to pay attention to you. don't pull on him...that only makes you look mean and i'm sure it does hurt him.

Well.... It is important that the dog see's you as leader or 'Alpha"... That means when you play tug of war YOU Always win.. or almost always.. It means taking toys away and putting them out of reach at random.. Not letting him jump up on furniture etc.Not to be mean but to let him know his place in the pack.. Your dog won't feel bad about it, he'll be happy to know where he stands and in turn more apt. to follow you.. When he stops tp sniff give a firm 'NO!" and a corrective tug..

I know it sounds a bit mean... But there are lot's of little things like this that can add up to a MUCH more well behaved and balanced animal.. You must be the leader all the time.. Even when you play.. Teaching him to heal properly will help too.. By that I mean basic lead training.. there are a lot of good books on how to do it.. I had an A.B. 135 lbs. of Awesome! So I speak from experience.. Good Luck!
