I obtained an elka x1000 about 3 years ago in mint condition. All my friends love playing it. We stick it through the mixer and get some crazy sounds with fx units. Still can't believe all it cost me was a cup of tea. It was headed for the tip because the bloke who bought it couldn't play it and stuffed it in his garage for years in a flight case. Int music brilliant
how many organs do you own? and what is it like to have so many? I was thinking of buying some old models while they are cheap on ebay etc, what would you advise.
I have a Yamaha HE-8, a Technics SX-C600, a Viscount RBX-850, an ELKA EP-8, an ELKA X-1000, and an ELKA Preludeo 22L. Which one is the best depends on what I want to play. The Yamaha is best for "natural" sounds (piano, strings, horns etc.), the Technics is best for playing in the 70's "Klaus Wunderlich style", the ELKA EP-8 has some fantastic strings that makes it ideal for early Jean-Michel Jarre music, and the X-1000 is a very complicated but versatile instrument best for the advanced user.

@WOMBATLARD - It can also make some pretty odd sounds if you play with the parameters in the programmable synthesizer (Orchestra 4).

I recommend Yamaha CS-01.

Technically very good, seems to miss the more maudlin somber tone of the original tho .. or maybe I'm the maudlin somber one ;)
Keep those videos coming

To be honest I didn't give it much thought! I had just bought the organ and was trying it on music I could play just like that.
