Considering that most "pop stars" these days can't sing live at all -- they cheat by lip-syncing -- Fergie's pretty darn good. This is a quiet, intimate song -- very hard to pull off in a giant stadium full of screaming fans.

I think she does a fine job as a live singer, though she'll improve with more experience singing solo live.

Fergie's biggest challenge as a singer is to connect emotionally with each song she sings, rather than just showing off all the tricks of her powerful voice.
