Jeff had been tested for being overcome with revenge for the death of his son. At the end of the movie he finds the room with his wife, Amanda, and John. He shoots and kills Amanda and then Slits Johns throat with the Power saw. Moments later Jeff is shot to Death by Peter Strahm. Saw 4 happens at the same time as 3. This takes place after.

Mark Hoffman the detective who plays the tape continues the games as he was helping Jigsaw before he died. The main reason he continues the game is because unlike John he liked how brutality felt and wanted to see people suffer. Which was not actually jigsaw idea.

@Coldheart61595 yes it does 1st they look you over for cut bruises, then they make a Y on your torso and check out everything there and then they use a bone saw and cut open your skull weigh your brain, check your stomach, run a tox screan, weigh your heart, check you liver for psorsis or anything else, look at your lungs, take pictures, and then put everything back and stitch you up. but they only do autopsys if they think foul play was involved or they dont know why you died.
