I never blamed AIG, I agree that Dodd shouldn't have changed his amendment, though I also don't believe he is single handedly responsible for the bonuses going out. It could have been stopped in the drafting of the original TARP. Paulson and Bernanke didn't seem to worry, yet Geithner get's all the blame.

Dodd put a provision into the bill that restricted bonuses for the future, and limited the bonuses that were to be given out due to already signed contracts. The treasury department asked him change the language of the amendment to allow for the bonuses to be given out that were already signed into contract.

There is a BIG difference between the LEFT and the RADICAL RIGHT like yourself. The LEFT will have Dodd's head on a platter, I already see them steaming about it in the blogs. The RADICAL RIGHT will ALWAYS find excuses for people like Dick Cheney, "Rush Pill Popping Limbaugh" and the LIES that come from Fox News. Or what about Gerry Studs for that matter? The original Trail Blazer for having inappropriate relations with a male page. He got to RETIRE from Congress, while Foley was thrown out by the "radical right". Eventually Dodd had to get caught. He's escaped from the actual financial meltdown mess along with Barney Marble mouth Frank.
