So clearly, there is a move on toward a regional currency for North America, in conjunction with the formation of a North American Union. Monetary sovereignty, and especially the power to create and issue money, is perhaps more central to the idea of a free, democratic and sovereign nation than the right to vote.
If we do not have the power over the issuance of money, it does not matter whom we vote for. It’s the Golden Rule: he who has the gold, makes the rules. We, as Canadians, and other peoples of their respective nations should never relinquish this sovereignty over to regional boards, private banks, or other unaccountable individuals. It is our right, not a privilege, and giving up such a right is akin to giving up the right to vote; it is anathema to democracy and a free society.
The only thing is Americans, and Mexicans would have to get over themselves and move into the cold north to get good paying jobs here. This will open up the borders so broke unemployed Americans can move here and work! It's cold but hey, a jobs a job, in the end, your family has food on the table and you have a strong Amero Currency that cannot be touched. This will make us ALL stronger. With no borders there will be an abundance of jobs for Americans, Canadians, and Mexicans. Up here in Canada we have way more jobs than people. the NAU would create all that many more up here harvesting the natural resources such as oil, water, forestry, etc. It would also create more jobs to manufacture these raw materials into usable products We would have a united defense against our enemies. We would be untouchable. A new currency would replace the failing American Dollar with a stable one.

Thus, Canada and the US will need to be lowered to meet that of Mexico, which means doing away with our Republic and individual rights.

Both contain former French states. While a political union with Mexico is unlikely, it is much more likely to see a merger between the US and Canada. All three countries are also federations and not unitary like most of the countries in Europe are. In the case of North America it would make more sense to skip the EU nonsense and just have a North American Congress, Supreme Court and President since the U.S. and Mexico use the Presidential system.

@cutie1992ish For countries to successfully merge systems of banking, medical, transportation, etc., (as is the goal of the Security and Prosperity Partnership) each of the merging countries will need to meet at the same level. Thus, Canada and the US will need to be lowered to meet that of Mexico, which means doing away with our Republic and individual rights.

@TheJohnBirchSociety Here's what I have to wrap my head around. Why include Mexico? Both the US and Canadian have similar culture and laws. Both have a constitution and courts. Both contain former French states. While a political union with Mexico is unlikely, it is much more likely to see a merger between the US and Canada. Something I truthfully wouldn't mind, given our history.

That to secure these rights, governments are instituted ...." Meaning that government's role is to protect these God-given rights, which are unalienable (they cannot be taken away). Unfortunately, the US has fallen further and further away from this.

@MrFriday572006 In an economic union that is pointless? Since if a NAU is based off the EU it would be pointless since NAFTA already deals with trade between Canada, United States, and Mexico. All three countries are also federations and not unitary like most of the countries in Europe are. In the case of North America it would make more sense to skip the EU nonsense and just have a North American Congress, Supreme Court and President since the U.S. and Mexico use the Presidential system.

I disagree, the average Mexican lives off less a day, so it much cheaper to hire out Mexicans do to the work, growing their economy.
It also would be much cheaper, to pay to relocate Mexicans into the USA to work American jobs for less money, that will be passed onto the consumer, leading also to greater consumer demand, more production, regaining American's their jobs back and a more rapid growth in GDP in the USA.
All countries beneift from more rapid GDP growth.

What is really wrong with a merger like this? It would be beneficial to all of North America. Americans would be able to buy prime beach real estate in Mexico, the three countries could combine natural resources, and cheap labor would be ever more present. The only thing I worry about are the events that will make this possible. Something dramatic would have to take place. Like a total economic collapse, another terrorist event... you get my point!!

Turkey has more in Common with the EU than Mexico, because Turkey is in Europe, Mexico isn't.

If this is real, i can see most of brown Mexicans migrating north looking for work, and all the rich white folks migrating south and buying prime property on the white sand beaches.

pretty good video but i think everyone has to realize that the US always reclutes the best workers, athletes and the best people around the globe, let me tell you that sadly that is the reason why you guys are losing jobs. Sending jobs to India instead of keeping them within the nation or soon to be Union.Obviously that is inevitable the nation has to have the best people at everything. Otherwise than this will not be the melting pot.
