These outtakes are amazing, we get to glimpse the Master working at his craft - its like being able to watch Michelangelo chip away at marble - upload more!
One of my favorite outtakes! This one and "I Got Plenty of Nothing" are pretty hilarious! Man, can us perfectionist artists relate to the frustration of something not coming out just quite right! Songs, such as this one, can be brutal to sing because of it's softness and subtlety. One minor hiccup and it's ruined!
@SergioVellatti Yeah, Serg, you are absolutely right when you say that singing these kinds of ballads requires a great deal of concentration. FS sang so many great ballads so very well that it's easy for a person to get the idea that singing them is a piece of cake. But ballad singing is very difficult, especially when it's done right. And who has ever sung ballads "righter" than the Voice?
Frank was VERY strict on when he recorded a song...it had to be perfect. even if it was 10 takes on a song, it had to be just right. He would hate listening to his records in the car or w/e, because he would cringe right before a bar where he messed up. But this is very interesting...keep em coming,
I have to be honest, if people love Frank then they will love this insight into the 'real man'... I absolutely loved it, and as I am listening again, I have the hugest smile on my face.... Many many thanks once more @beeshor1 it is wonderful and thanks for the lovely reply too...
My very best regards and wishes from Wales UK :0)x
@beeshort, what a crackin' gem of a piece... I look forward with glee to any more you post for us to enjoy.. Hee hee, Frankie has/had a very well developed funny bone.. I really grinned listening to this and then he 'sang' it properly and my heart melted... *sighs*
@wenglishsal Thanks for enjoying it. Part of me thinks I shouldn't upload Sinatra outtakes because I'm not sure if FS would have approved. But I'm of the opinion that most of his fans would really enjoy this stuff. I know I have enjoyed listening to the sessions outtakes. Maybe I'll upload a couple more and then stop. It really depends on the feedback I get from people. If they don't think I'm disrespecting Sinatra's legacy with the uploads, I'll post more.
Wow your very good keep ;) i think you can try out for this cool contest!

i LOVE these old recordings, and how you can hear the little tiny imperfections... it's all too clear-cut and autotuned today.
