  • and there the news for tonight

  • this movie sucked in my opinion. overrated

  • @the0th

    Fail troll is fail.

  • amazing how those resemble apple emacs

  • toujours autant d'actualité !

  • CHECK OUT = BRIC= BRAZIL,RUSSIA,INDIA,CHINA... CAN BOMB USA ANY TIME! A NEW POWER

    LOL LOOSEERRS

  • @ripoakley And then NATO comes back with twice as much firepower. You have to understand how strong the US and their allies really are. They would never even think about bombing us. Do you think they want to see nukes going off in their doorsteps? LMAO!!! Think before you type dumbass!

  • brazil reminds me of george orwell´s 1984...

  • @SeniorRandalo Well actually it is seen as a comedic version of 1984.

  • @jraspider2 I can see how folks say that, but Terry Gilliam had not read 1984 when he made this movie.

  • @Bruno529 Does it matter?

  • this is probably the only way you can keep the opening on YT

  • But Berlusconi, here in Italy is near to make this, i hate this man... -.-

  • I do think Blair was keen enough to recognize the implementation of an ancient method of population control after the government of the USA was usurped during his youth. He was able to witness the creation of the FED and the Dept. of Education. Through his eyes the resulting state of fear we enjoy today might have been as obvious as the results of a mouse eating cheese from a mousetrap.

    ...or a fly being swatted.

  • It swhows reallity - Humans automatically kill insects. But insects as Insects are informational systems. I succeded to get several bugs to commit suicide by an other way of killing. Pull a glass on the insect so that it kills it self by its own exhaust.

  • Chunky exslposion! LOL

  • its times like this when i wish jesus was real. so he could turn to you and tell you to pull your dik out your mouth

  • americans racists

  • fucking bugs ^^ lol

  • This isn't the opening?

  • nevermind im an idiot lul

  • come and suck my argie dick

  • idiot

  • twat! yeah go on check it out in your "british shit" dictionary!

  • Sarah 2008, is that you behind tht mask? females like Joe the Barack O'Plumber not asking the questions in 2008. Palin for veep! Wait, isn't that a monty python reference? I'm esurient.

  • Gawd, how did you transfer this?

  • i was from argentina, and the dictator moment was very horrible.

  • Fight Club so ripped the tv display explosion from this scene

  • actually the scene ya mention was a 80's commercial involving apple computers ...next time ya watch fight club notice the computers in the window

  • you filmed your TV. LOL

  • definately ahead of its time

  • No,just timeless;at least since the break of modernity.I highly recommend "The Secret Agent",a contemporary novel by Joseph Conrad from 1907(!).Some of the themes of "Brazil" are already in there.JC is also the guy who wrote "Heart of Darkness"(on colonialism),which decades later still speaks so strongly to us that Francis Ford Coppola & John Milius adapted it into the famous vietnam war movie "Apocalypse Now"(1979).Mankind doesn't learn to better itself, only its skill in doing wrong.

  • yes ive read heart of darkness. quite good, guite.

  • The first time I saw it, I was in awe I laughed and when it was over I thought, what just happened? It was bizzare, insane hystericaly funny, shockingly accurate. The work of a comic genius and a stoic thinkers.

Ahead of its time for all time.

  • Let's say: A timeless classic. And a very fine movie, script-, design- and direction-wise. Just brilliant!

  • Damn Criterion, I can't find this movie anywhere for less than fifty bucks, and that's just the regular version. The big, fat four disc one is ninety bucks.

  • amazon.

    i've seen it for 20.

  • Ooh.

  • God I love this movie. This, Gattaca and Blade Runner have to be my all time faves

  • One of the best films ever made, its as simple as that.

  • tivo!

  • The best movie of all times in my opinion. More relevant these days than when it was made in 1985, astonishing.

  • Yes it was and yes it is. Definitely in a class if its own and never takes itself too seriously. Remember that dead fly changing history. Was left wondering .. this a pastiche? this a thriller? this a comedy..... what IS this? It was a brief but stunning "step outside", like Eraserhead had been. Gilliam a genius. Palin a film star? Eric Arthur Blair was right.

  • To this day I still go at certain scenes " How the hell did they make that ? "

  • Never watched it. Does the movie have anything to do with the country Brazil? I live in Brazil and our media never mentions that film.

  • trust me it has nothing to do with Brazil cept the song Brazil

  • Its called Brazil partly because the death squads and torture chambers in it are reminiscant of the old South American dictatorships.

  • Are you sure? I'd always heard it was called Brazil because that's the name of the song used as the main theme.

  • I presumed it was a combination of things, including the song.

  • its named brazil becasue of the song wcjic is called something brazil its in portugese well the title anyway

  • Brazil came out of left field for me.....a film way beyond the norm that could'nt be ignored and should'nt.

  • poor poor buttle

  • 1985 I believe. the best movie EVER made in my opinion.

  • I'm guessing that the baby carriage was the bomb? (since I've heard of that happening in real life)

  • In response to ZugBub, it looks like a shopping cart to me LOL CONSUMERISM AMIRITE but in either case it had not occurred to me that the bomb was in there. Seems slightly obvious now that you've pointed it out >:\

  • oooh right right, never got a close look at it haha.

  • Good guess! Another theory says that there were actually no bombs and no terrorists: we never see a terrorist, Tuttle planted no bombs and only attacked in Lowry's mind... and the explosions were just the Central Services artifacts malfunctioning. Who knows if Central Services knew this.

  • that's the eerie thing about it, then terrorism and bombings was new and also this film was meant to be a big exaggeration but look nowadays? 9/11 the July the 7th bombings? See any simaralities?

  • It's happened many times before. The Argentine dictatorship murdered thousands and said it was a "war on terrorism" and some people still believe them today. The French in Algeria called pro-independence Algerians "terrorists"..Putin does the same in Chechnya..It doesn't stop there and it hasn't stopped there, unfortunately, but there is more than enough material to see through the current pretences.

  • I wonder why you don't mention the current US foreign politcs?

  • Who me? I didn't need to mention it,Lloydtime mentioned it and I replied.

  • Amazing movie.

One of the best movies I ever seen in my

    fucken life.

    I should see it again.

  • one of my favourite movie all the time... ty for posting this :)

  • our government isn't efficient enough to do any inside jobs (they can barely run schools), but a police state such as this might be able to... surely a warning

  • The government's efficiency doensn't matter. Simply put, an inside job involves people within a system using their knowledge to break or help break a law. Often people in government involved in these things will be planning "drills" of the same situation at the same time and place of an actual attack. If anyone finds out details they can be reassured that it's just a drill. (The Americans who were recently busted with C-4 at the G8 summit claimed to be part of a drill...with real C-4)

  • "Folly is the cloak of knavery", they want to run the education system into the ground to keep people stupid(look at America), and then the private sector can come along and provide education...for a price, same goes for health.

  • it was made in the mid '80s at the height of the PIRA bombing campaign on England.

  • when was this made?

  • 1985
