@AMP3G The purpose was to prevent idol worship amongst so-called atheist freethinkers. Generally the penalty for criticizing an idol, even one like thunderf00t worshiped by atheists, is hate speech, false flagging, death threats - the very thing the atheist community claims to be against. I've dealt with these things from atheist supporters in the past, it's very real, and very hypocritical. This is the point. Not even thunderf00t is safe from criticism.

You are correct though that there are atheists who will believe dogmatically what their "idols" say, just the same as some Christians, Jews or Muslims would. All groups of people or communities have their "sheeple" who cannot think for themselves. I just hope you don't think all atheists are like this (I am one of them). Thanks for the clarification.

If free speech is truly absolute then it permits people to pass along any information, opinion, expression of hatred, motivation for genocide, and, in this case, the hiding places of innocent people who are being targeted by violent fundamentalists.

Thunderf00t used this example to explain why you cannot impose moral absolutes - you must always think for yourself on a case by case basis whether or not you should follow or break a given rule.

Absolute free speech mandates that if someone wants to tell the Nazis where the Jews are hiding, he can and will. Likewise, this cannot be held as absolute. Greater good at stake.

There will always be scenarios in which it would be best overall to break given absolute for the greater good. If thunderf00t accepts one absolute and rejects another then he is hypocrite. @ccaptorchen Just to make sure you understand. Thunderfoot does not accept the absolute, "thou shalt not lie", because in some cases it will be greatly better to lie. (Nazi Jew example.) This exact same criticism can be applied to an absolute he does accept, however. Therefore, he is hypocritical.

It should be a collective of smart, people, engaging in balanced debate over whether it would be more harmful than good, based on evidence, to allow a particular form of speech to be free. I don't think someone should be allowed to march up and down the street and try to encourage people to kill one another. That's insane.
