Ah... Titlkid. I can tell when someone polity saying 'shut up' and no I will not be silenced. (No pun intended!) I would like to mention I did l not start the conversation merely add to it and it is an open web site, I'm entitled to my own opinion. Also, I would like to point out again!!! I am a big fan of the show not a conspiracy nut! But there are things I notice and I am just adding interesting conversation. I tend to notice details, not just on this, but things like technical goof
@StarWarsDrWhoFan101 Ah, it's you! The one who didn't like Doctor Whooves! Mate, do us all a favor and be quiet. Doctor Who does not contain subliminal messages. The whole point of The God Complex was Amy's faith in The Doctor. In no way was it telling people to give up any religious faiths they may have.
We were not technically arguing religion. We were pointing out subliminal messages in Doctor Who. What on Earth is the 700 club? On second thought, maybe I don't want to know.
Capness1228, the logic to your argument makes little sense. I think you may have an idea, but you are expressing it in an unintelligible manner . Rework your paragraph and I will be more than happy to have a intellectual debate with you. No offense intended, merely constructive criticism. I do love debate and I am always open to ideas.
@StarWarsDrWhoFan101 No, the fact that you are wrong is what negates your statement. Maybe grow a pair and don't take it as a personal attack whenever a piece of media uses the word faith in a way you don't approve of. An atheist has faith that there is no god, by your logic this episode would make them abandon that and suddenly believe there is one.
'The God Complex' is swipe at people of faith. If one is a religious person, than I find that this is entirely uncalled for. The episode is saying that this taking them back to their primary instincts or religious faith, than the Doctor said that in order to survive through this episode that you must abandon it, there for inferring that religion is fake and that believing is just instinctual. There for it infers to the audience that one should not believe in their god nor be religious. That
I love the show, but is the stuff that they subtly (or not so subtly in some cases) put in there that annoys me to death! And one would have to be blind not to catch the 'God Complex' one, which I find a bit rude. I wouldn't let kids under the age of maybe ten watch Doctor Who, and even then there are certain episodes I wouldn't let kids watch. It is a great show overall and I think that the new Doctors are what really brought it back. David Tennant was the second most popular Doctor next to
@GreatSage91 All the timelords just stick around on Gallifrey. So they are used to the number of hours that pass naturally in a day. Even the Dr should be after all that time he spent in contemporary Cardiff.
I think this line is actually an inside joke that the script editor or actor was playing on Richard Curtis (the writer) to describe how boring the plot was.
Yes, I don't like the Slitheen, but that doesn't mean RTD is a bad writer.
As for the Doctor in a relationship, in the William Hartnell story The Aztecs, at the end, he shows that he really did love Cameca (?), so romance is nothing new. Besides, it's character development. When a person is young, they have less to no relationships; as they age, they get some.
Also, there are shows I don't like but I don't go on their boards/YouTube pages and comment on them. I ask you do the same.
@mitmfan Stating the obvious again: it is out of character for the Dr (supposedly 900 years old) to be head over heals in love with a 19 year old dimwit.
He wasn't in a relationship in the Aztects, he was under the influence of a love potion.
If the BBC makes sh!t shows, fine. But when they turn DW into a dumbed-down, unoriginal, uncreative, Americanised, repetitive, dated, cartoon soap about a teenage Casanova with a magic wand, then Whovians like myself will have something to say about it.
Ever since Jon Pertwee's era (and maybe even Patrick Troughton's era) the sonic screwdriver could do a whole lot of features. This isn't unique to the new series.
Sylvester McCoy, like Christopher Eccleston, had an accent as the Doctor, so if you don't like the fact Christopher had an accent, then you shouldn't also like the fact that Sylvester had an accent.
Just because Time Lords haven't been seen to change gender doesn't mean they can't.
@mitmfan Do I need to state the obvious? In the original DW the sonic screwdriver couldn't do very much, sometimes it couldn't even open doors. Nowadays in Nu-hu it has got limitless functions, just look up sonic screwdriver on Wikipedia if you don't believe me.
I don't just criticise any old show. I'm a Whovian & that's why I criticise Nu-hu for calling itself DW while being nothing like DW. If it's called DW it should be written like DW & that isn't too much to ask.
@LegoDaleks The new sonic screwdriver also can't open some doors, just like the classic series Doctor Who. The classic series sonic screwdriver could do a whole lot of things just like the new series sonic screwdriver.
As for the Doctor's catchphrases, the Second Doctor had "When I say run, run" and "Oh my giddy aunt". Also, is this just the hero that can't have a catchphrase or does that apply to villains as well?
@LegoDaleks Why can't McCoy's and Eccleston's accent be compared? You said you didn't want the Doctor to have an accent yet they both have accents. (This in particular makes me think you're ignoring McCoy's accent just so you can have another "reason" to hate the new series.)
Why is it out of character for the Doctor to be in love? (I'm not giving my views on his relationship; I just want to why the Doctor have a relationship at all is out of character.
@mitmfan The Dr is supposed to be an infinitely wise person, he doesn't have time for romance&sex. Also those things are too base to be the central part of DW. Romance is a dull, overdone, repetitive, base subject that should be in shows about low-lives like CoronationStreet or on DisneyPrincessfilms. The adventure, the monsters, sci-fi & all-round good characters & story-telling is what DW should be about
Weren't U around in 96? Whovians at the time agreed that the kiss was totally wrong for DW
@mitmfan (continued) I can't even hear McCoy's "accent". I never even knew he had one or that it was a scottish accent. THAT's how mild it is. American's can understand him without subtitles (you can't say that about most "Scottish" accents).
I could clearly hear that Eccleston has an accent. Even ReTarD who has no problem with changing DW without explanation had Rose question why he had a northern accent if he's an alien. So it clearly stands out. compare 9 to the other 8 - he's the odd 1 out.
@LegoDaleks In that case, perhaps my confusion lies with why an infinitely wise person doesn't have time for romance.
I do disagree with you about romance being the central part of DW. There are a part of it, but not the central part. While not necessary for a show to survive, I believe romance can be an acceptable part of any TV show.
@mitmfan Unless U R a fangirl who is in love with him & loves the idea of this man's true love & "loyalty" to Rose, I find it hard to respect him ,cuz after every1 he met & everything he's seen, after all that, he declares his unconditional love for some low-life 19 year old Londoner.
Then that is even contradicted in Girl in the Fireplace. So he's a jerk as well.
If he was going to fall in love then why not with his equal...well Rose is sort of the Nu-dr's equal, but only cuz of how dumb he is
@LegoDaleks I always thought "Who da man" was something like when someone says "Doctor Who?" and the Doctor replies "Exactly" or when the First Doctor said (in The Chase) something like "Now we know who's Who" (i.e. a tongue-in-check way of supposedly being "called" Doctor Who, or something like that)
Also, how is "Geromino" different than "Oh my giddy aunt"?
@mitmfan Do I really need to tell you the difference??? I suppose I do since U just like to pretend you don't know for argument's sake.
'Geronimo' was purposely made up to be the Dr's new catchphrase & it totally failed. It was pasted in in places where it didn't fit in a perfectly contrived way.
"Who da man" is an Americanism (modern America likes replacing words like 'the' with 'da'). That line, as well as his apology for it, was totally cringe-worthy.
@LegoDaleks I really don't know; I'm not pretending to not know. I just want to point out that just because it makes sense to you doesn't mean it makes sense to me or to everyone else.
I'm still not sure how "Geronimo" is different than "Oh my giddy aunt".
One more thing--about the accents: Why exactly can't the Doctor have different accents? Borusa had a different accent in one of his incarnations--so did the Master. I don't think it was ever established that they can't change accents.
@mitmfan Again, even ReTarD had Rose question his accent. ReTarD knew that it didn't make sense, Rose knew it didn't make sense & even the Dr didn't have an answer to her query.
'Geronimo' was purposely made to be a catchphrase & so purposely plastered into the episodes with the intent that it is something he says a lot & something Nuvians should copy. It is contrived. Look up the word: contrived.
"Oh my giddy aunt" was just a line like any other. It developed naturally & flowed well & fits.
@LegoDaleks It appears that you don't like the fact that Rose questioned the Doctor's accent not the fact that he had an accent.
It also appears that you feel like Geronimo was said a lot of times in any place possible (although it wasn't actually said all that much) whereas Oh my giddy aunt was said only where it made sense. Therefore, it would appear that your problem is not with it being a catchphrase but with how/when it's used.
@mitmfan No, it doesn't 'appear' that I don't like that Rose questioned it. Rose questioning it was proof to back up my argument.
Catchphrases R beneath DW, especially those that appear contrived. "Bow ties are cool" doesn't make sense for the Dr to say repeatedly. If he was going to say it at all (which would have been bad enough) then he should have just said it once.
What's the point in a nonsensical catchphrase? It may have a point in a SketchShow or cartoon, but not in quality shows like DW
I view Oh my giddy aunt as a catchphrase yet you have nothing aganist that. However, you did say Geronimo was contrived and inserted even if it didn't make sense, so it would make sense to not like how a catchphrase is being used, since I don't see how Oh my giddy aunt is not a catchphrase.
Also, I must have missed you answering my question--it doesn't show which question it is, but I'm thinking it's why you just don't avoid new series Doctor Who videos.
@mitmfan Geronimo was made up by Steven Muppet who INTENDED it to be the Dr's new catchphrase. Oh my giddy aunt was not INTENDED by the production team for it to be the Dr's catchphrase. Fans only consider it that after the fact. Oh my tidy aunt actually fits in with all the rest of the dialogue. He says it more than once, but it makes sense at least.
Is it really completely beyond your understanding?
@LegoDaleks I always thought a catchphrase was something that a character repeats often.
Also, sometimes it takes a while for someone to understand something.
Since I somehow cannot seem to find your comment on why you complain about this show as opposed to just ignoring these videos, would you mind repeating your reason?
@mitmfan 'Geronimo' is everything a catchphrase oughtn't be.
When I first clicked on this vid I thought it was a criticism of the ep, since I used the same line in my spoof.
If the BBC makes sh!t shows, fine. But when they turn DW into a dumbed-down, unoriginal, uncreative, Americanised, repetitive, dated, cartoon soap about a teenage Casanova with a magic wand, then Whovians like myself will have something to say about it.
I intend to open people's eyes to how ridiculously crap Nu-hu is.
@LegoDaleks You think the new series is bad and can't understand how people like it. I think the new series is good and can't understand how people don't like it. I think we should have our own opinions and not try to "open people's eyes" on how good or bad it is.
@mitmfan There are plenty of people who like garbage like Twilight. Nu-hu is a Twilight/Harry Potter hybrid, devoid of science fiction & originality with a sprinkling of soap opera & is EXTREMELY repetitive. The regulars are sexist teenagers who lack good vocabulary. Every aspect of Nu-hu is unoriginal, dull, banal, uncreative & so utterly & completely NOT unique.
Try watching some real Dr Who, then you might acquire enough taste to dump this garbage, open your eyes. Only the ignorant like Nu-hu
@LegoDaleks You do know that no one gives a shit what you think, right? Seriously, no one and I mean NO ONE is going to stop watching something they enjoy because a stranger on the internet thinks its rubbish. You're opinion doesn't matter, it never mattered, it never will matter. You are essentially accomplishing nothing.
@surreal1010 Unlike what Ur comment accomplished, right?
It isn't just opinion, what I say about Nuhu is fact & I can prove it all using evidence. e.g. - Nuhu doesn't have very good dialogue; certainly not on par with the original DW - my proof: actually watch the shows or look up quotes from both shows on the net.
My main statement isn't stop watching Nuhu, it's: start watching DW. The reason people enjoy Nuhu is because of their ignorance, which I can also prove.
@LegoDaleks No, no, no. You can't find proof about stuff like that, because everything you find is biased and completely based on your opinion alone. Opinion can never be fact. Also, newsflash: Many DW fans watch the old stuff AND the new stuff. You can like both.
@surreal1010 But vocabulary is measurable. There's a higher variety of educated-sounding words in Doctor Who than Nu-hu.
Doctor Who vocabulary example: "To the rational mind nothing is inexplicable only unexplained" word examples: effete, malaise, sartorial. Quoting literature: "It is the province of knowledge to speak & it is the privilege of wisdom to listen."
Nuhu vocab: "Don't diss the sonic" catchphrases repeated & he quotes TV shows.
The former is clearly more sophisticated & intelligent.
@LegoDaleks Please just don't try and tell people which serials or series to watch. If they're interested, then they'll watch them. After all, Nu Who is what got me into the Classic Who AND the Eighth Doctor Adventures.
@surreal1010 It isn't primarily but it should be educational - every show is educational, but Nu-hu educates you about stupid things like kiss-o-grams.
You can't excuse the dumbing-down of a programme & making it repetitive, uncreate & unoriginal by saying that it isn't meant to be an educational programme. Believe it or not there's intelligent dialogue in many shows even though they aren't "educational programmes".
@LegoDaleks well unfortunetly for you this Doctor Who like all TV-Shows is base on Rating and the audience, no one will understand "To the rational mind nothing is inexplicable only unexplained" or "effete, malaise, sartorial" or any literature quotes, its not like we watch TV with a dictionary- this is TELEVISION for crying out loud, its a sci-fi/Drama show not Educational
@fbiuzz What a terrible argument. TV should be dumbed-down because the audience is stupid?
You can't convince me that if the bbc made DW into the great show it used to be that it wouldn't be popular. The quote: "to the rational mind nothing is inexplicable, only unexplained" is from Robot's of Death, which was the story with the highest viewing figures of the entire 4th Dr.'s tenure.
There are already dumb shows for the dumb people, not all shows have to be dumb-down to the same base level.
Do you honestly need to justify your intelligence with your opnions on a childrens TV show? You seem like an intelligent person so I honestly can't understand why you are wasting your time preaching to a group who simply don't care about what you have to say.
@purplebananafish Notice you put the world 'original target audience'. When do you think it changed over to target an older audience? Soon after the first couple of Doctors, where the show was able to build their sets and villains out of more than styrofoam and aluminum sheeting? Much of the content of Doctor Who is a bit intense for children, and many of the concepts presented are things children can't and/or weren't meant to understand. 'Blink' even scares some adults...
Most of what you said is true but children are still a massive part of DW's audience (all the Blue Peter tie-ins and competions are evidence of that).
"Much of the content of Doctor Who is a bit intense for children, and many of the concepts presented are things children can't and/or weren't meant to understand."
I've always found that very interesting. For example, a child most likely wouldn't understand all the themes about faith in The God Complex but still enjoy it
@purplebananafish Most of those children are watching it alongside their parents, enjoying the few bits they truly do grasp. But saying Doctor Who targets children as their main audience would be like saying Star Gate and Star Trek are doing the same. Truly, it's the Science Fiction genre that fascinates children since it stimulates their creative minds to 'believe' in the aliens and technology shown in the show. In truth, it's just intriguing colors and sounds. Plot is missed.
@purplebananafish The deeper meanings, concepts, jokes, character development, side-happenings, subtler body language, and several psychological matters undetectable by the children are what target the older audiences, and that has become a greater part of the show than it ever once was. Doctor Who was discontinued a couple decades ago because it was lacking in popularity, yet now all of a sudden it has exploded, not just in Britain (again), but also the US. What did that?
"The deeper meanings, concepts, jokes, character development, side-happenings, subtler body language, and several psychological matters undetectable by the children are what target the older audiences, and that has become a greater part of the show than it ever once was."
Going to have to disagree with you there. Classic Who still had lots of subtext (the anti-racsim in Remberance of the Daleks, the anti-war theme of The War Games, Ace being a lesbian etc).
@LegoDaleks Interesting evidence. To support your claim that new DW has bad quotes, you say look up quotes as if we can identify on our own why new DW quotes are inferior to classic DW quotes. The whole point of evidence is for you to point it out to us; not for us to try to find it for ourselves.
I just want you to accept the fact that some people like new DW and there's nothing anyone can do about it (like I'm accepting the fact some people hate it & there's nothing I can do).
@mitmfan Doctor Who vocabulary example: "To the rational mind nothing is inexplicable only unexplained." Word examples: effete, malaise, sartorial. Dr quoting literature: "It is the province of knowledge to speak & it is the privilege of wisdom to listen."
Nuhu vocab: "Don't diss the sonic." nonsensical catchphrases repeated & he quotes TV shows.
There's your evidence that DW is clearly more sophisticated & intelligent than Nu-hu.
Nothing wrong with pointing out what's sh!t about Big Bang.
@LegoDaleks I've watched every serial of classic Doctor Who (assuming that none of its episodes are missing), and I've watched new Doctor Who. I like it, and I understand there are people like you who don't like it. I'm not asking you to like new Doctor Who; I'm just asking you to not convince others to not like new Doctor Who. There's really no point of commenting on a video of a show you don't like.
Hate the show for all I care, just please don't convince others to change their opinions.
@LegoDaleks There are shows I don't like but I don't go and try to open people's eyes to how ridiculous that shows is--I avoid them altogether even though I wish people would stop watching those shows.
Personally, I think the best thing to do is just accept the fact that some people are going to like a show you absolutely hate and leave it at that.
@mitmfan The only reason I care is because this rubbishy show is called Doctor Who and because a bunch of ignorant Nuvians who've never watched Doctor Who before say Tennant was the best Dr or that Blink was the best story.
@humankitten What's your point? Are you somehow suggesting that the line "Would you like a jelly baby?" can be compared to catchphrases in Nu-hu, like "Bow-ties are cool."?
The Dr just frequently asks different people if they would like a jelly baby. That actually makes sense. Randomly repeating to the same crew that bow-ties are cool is nonsensical. That kind of crap should only be acceptable on cartoons on CBBC.
The Dr in Nu-hu doesn't have intelligent dialogue, unlike the 1st-7th Dr.
@LegoDaleks One more thing: Why can't you just ignore new series Doctor Who pages and/or avoid writing your complaints about the series as a whole? There are shows I don't like but don't go to their YouTube pages talking aboout how I dislike it.
@mitmfan (continued) You cannot compare McCoy's remnants of an accent to Eccleston's undeniable northern English accent. If McCoy had had an accent that was as strong as Eccleston's, he would never have got the job.
@LegoDaleks yYou do realize you're being unnessecarily stubborn right now, don't you? And if you really hate the eleventh doctor so much, why watch this video?
@fluffysnape In what way am i being stubborn? I thought this vid was a criticism of the ep. when I first clicked on it. I used that same line in my review to make fun of of the pointlessness of the ep.
@LegoDaleks Christopher, Tennant and Smith, they all added something to character. Which cant be said about nr.6 as you said he just copyied the first doctor 's character but failed to make him likeble, his clothes looked ridiculus wether you like or not, all the doctor's past cloathing seemed to be a little extrodinary but still something a odd gentlemen would wear. But nobody ( except a clown or nut ) would wear Colin's outfit which made his character unrealistic and unrelatable
@LifterC3 6's clothes didn't make him unrelatable to or unrealistic. His clothes, undeniably, still have that Edwardian feel, which all the Dr's have, except for 9.
10&11 just added the same things that 9 already did. 9 was the over-emotional, immature, irrational one, then the other 2 were just copies of that, except their wands have more functions.
I said 6 is most like 1 than any of the others, obviously not exactly the same. & if a Dr is to be like another Dr, then why not like the 1st?
I finally saw this episode and it ranks as my favorite episode of the Fifth series. It's actually right next to Girl in the Fireplace as my favorites of the whole series.
@WorldWalker128 Keep in my mind that your opinion isnt the only one that counts. Your maybe thinking that Doctor Who is utterly crap these days, but their are many... i say many... fans who disagree with you on that. I did not say the kids these days have become dumber, but their taste has developed over the years, and we can take into consideration because television itself has developed. A 4 part is the lenght of a movie, i know... which is why a episode and a story arc are 2 different things.
@LifterC3 It is VERY CLEARLY dumbed-down! There's lots of evidence for that, so it is a FACT & NOT just my opinion. Just look up some DW & Nu-hu QUOTES on the net of instance. Nu-hu clearly has a very LIMITED vocabulary, which already makes it dumbed down. People who disagree that lines like: "Stop Muckin' about", "Who da man" & "Don't diss the sonic" & catchphrses like: Geronimo, fantastic, bow-ties are cool, spoilers & everybody lives; aren't dumber than lines from DW, then they R ignoramuses!
@LegoDaleks dude, i respect your opinion but not the way you bring it. Just because people dont agree with your taste doesnt mean they are dumb. catchphrases are short notable lines which suit a certain character and makes them reckonazible... you wanna add vocubalary to a catchphrase? lol. you mean "Would you like a Jelly baby" and "carrot juice" was such supiriour laughuage? speaking of which.. classic doctor who got shitty after Peter Davidson left, after that the story's just sucked.
@LifterC3 Catchphrases like those belong a cartoon, not DW. If it's called DW, it should be written like DW, that isn't too much to ask.
Carrot juice isn't a catchphrase. All U need to do is search the net a bit & the evidence of DW having a greater vocab than Nu-hu will be in front of your face.
Actually the stories 6's stories were better. 6 got better original enemies like The Rani, Sil The Valyard. All 5 got was The Gravis. If U look up quotes U'll discover that 6&7 got better lines than 5
@LegoDaleks You say doctor 9, 10 and 11 are irrational, immature, hormonal, magic-wand wielding, cartoon Casanova. You say the fourth doctor wasnt immature somethimes, you say the 6th doctor, who strangeled his compagnions and bitched at everything he encountered wasnt irrational and hormonal somethimes? Casanova? sure... if you say thats a bad thing you clearly dont have much luck with girls then. And a story arc isnt the same a parter episode. Its a set-up for a series finale.
@LifterC3 A story arc isn't the same a 4parter -duh. The story arcs in Nu-hu R crap. The Dr isn't Casanova, so obviously it would be untrue for the character to behave that way. It has nothing to do with me being jealous or my lifestyle. Otherwise I'd be complaining about him visiting alien planets.
6 wasn't irrational.10 irrationally attempts to save people who need to die, despite what 1 said in reign of terror & what 5 said in Arc of Infinity. So he is less mature even though he's older.
@LegoDaleks Guess it? the second doctor was less mature then the first. And the fourth doctor was less mature then the third. The sixth doctor had no personallity except at bitching at things with a teeth itching accent. The seventh was pretty serious but had its less mature moments with Ace. The eight doctor had onky once appearence. In case you dont get the hint, the doctors personality changes after he regenerates even in the classic show, in fact they got more childish with each incarnation
@LifterC3 No, they didn't make immature & irrational DECISIONS. All the original Dr's actions were rational (what I mean is they were responsible), they didn't just behave like a five year old having a tantrum (see Victory "I am the Dr & you are the Daleks!!) Nu-hu Rose is more rational than the Dr. (see Dalek) & the woman in Waters of Mars is more rational than nu-dr. 6 is more like 1 than any of the others. In the examples I gave the Dr in nuhu behaves irresponsibly irrational & immature.
@LegoDaleks Give better arguments. Why! do you think they are irrational/inresponible.Rose was more rational than the doctor? sure. You think the ninth doctor should have let the dalek( the most dangerous being in the universe ) go to freedom? you think the doctor wasnt rational when he chose to save earth by sacrificing pompei? you think he wasnt rational when he sacrificed himself to seal the cracks? But do you think doctor nr. 4 was responsible when he decided the daleks should live?
@LifterC3 The 4th obviously didn't irrationally not kill the Daleks because he pitied them. Rose knew that the emo Dalek in Dalek was helpless & not hostile while an over-emotional Dr is prepared to shoot it with a fat gun. 10 was irrational to save that family that they got to know. In The Massacre 1 tells Steven that the people had to die cuz they can't re-write history, even a woman they got to know. He was firm & responsible. 10's actions were neither of these in Pompeii & Waters & others.
@LegoDaleks Yeah, the 4th doctor was really smart to give the Daleks pity even though he knew they might exterminate all other lifeforms in existence. but what the hell, lets give them pity... who the fuck cares about the cute innocent people... the doctor is suposse to be responsible. And so was the 9th doctor by destroying the Daleks and the Timelords to save the whole universe. However the 9th doctor was rational when he didnt want to use the Delta wave to kill humans and Daleks alike.
@LifterC3 The 4rth didn't pity them. Have U watched Genesis? At the end they were entombed & so that just set the them back a bit, without having to wipe out an entire race. It could also be seen as a test by the Timelords, cuz their laws forbid genocide. So if he had killed them all then Trial of a Timelord wouldn't have worked. If Nu-hu had done Genesis, then first of all it wouldn't be as good, and second of all he would have wiped them all out & then a million more would return next season.
@LegoDaleks The Dalek helpless? it was armed goddamed. not-hostile... it killed 200 personal dead and was about to be releashed into the open world. Also Rose didnt knew single bloody thing about the Daleks, while the doctor knew their terror. Whovians might dislike the 9th doctor the most because he resembled to much of the old doctor's incarnation while 10 and 11 had their own. Also because 9th had only 1 intro series, whereas the others got 3... see the link...
@LifterC3 The Dalek wasn't hostile. And apparently the Dr didn't know that the Dalek turned into a suicidal emo-Dalek, but Rose did, cuz it took her emotions or some old rubbish.
FYI 9 is the least like the Dr. - he's got the wrong attitude, morals & maturity levels (just like 10 & 11) plus he's got the wrong clothes, haircut & accent. So how does that make him MORE like the original Dr's?
@LifterC3 (continued) The original Dr's wouldn't have done those stupid things I named. In DW his personality changes when he regenerates but he always has the same morals & basic personality. 9 behaves completely unlike the Dr then he regenerates into 10 & his personality doesn't change, he's still got 9's personality, the same goes for 11. The actors might try a bit to act differently but the writers make no attempt to change the Dr's personality.
@LegoDaleks Dman your so ignorant. The doctors personality did change when over from 9 to 10. 9 was sirous and shed by the Time war, he had dark moments when he decided one should better be dead then to be rescued. He insulted his compagnions whereas Tennant praised them very high as the "best". 11th is different from the 10th. He is more a grown up childish, hes more enjoyable then any of the doctor has ever been, he;s happy but deadly sirous sometimes and energic
@LifterC3 No they R all the same. 9,10 &11 have all been "insulting" & have also praised too much. They R all "energetic". They R all happy but deadly serious sometimes. They Rn't really childish, just immature. In DW he usually changed to almost the exact opposite. ReTarD should have just said that the Dr is 17 instead of 900, that would've made a lot more sense.
ReTarD didn't expect Chris to leave so he didn't bother changing the character & we all know that Muppet is just a follower of ReTarD
@LegoDaleks And come on, littarly every single old whovian ( who disliked Tennant or Smith ) admitted the 9th doctor acted like THE doctor. Your the first classic whovian ( i bet you like such title ) to deny that.
@LifterC3 There are sooooo many Whovians who think that 9 is actually the worst & least like the Dr of the Nu-ones. Nuvians & Whovians agree that he couldn't act. He's got an unexplained regional accent, which magically disappears after he regenerates. He's shaved all his hair off & wears a leather jacket. One couldn't look, sound or act less like the Dr if one tried. The Dr is supposed to be a gentleman & an eccentric who is wise, not a northern counsel-estate kid.
@LegoDaleks accent? what accent... oh i guess you mean Sylvester Mccoy's stupid scottish accent... well your right about that :P atleast David Tennant was motivated enough to supress his scottish accent into a perfect british one. I guess you prefer Colin Bakers stjupjid colorly rainbow coat... fanboyism lalalala... shaved hair, you mean short cut.. atleast RTD had a reason for giving every doctor a unique style, the worn of leathery jacket was suposse to resemble him being a worn of traveler...
@LifterC3 Tennant sounds like a cartoon imbecile when he's playing the Dr. It would have been a lot better if he'd played it like himself.
McCoy has only the remnants of an accent. Real Scottish accents need subtitles, but the Americans understand McCoy just fine. If McCoy had Tennant's accent back in the day, he would have never got the job.
You can't compare how McCoy sounds to how Eccleston sounds. Rose even asks him why he's got a northern accent, but ReTarD doesn't even attempt an excuse.
@LegoDaleks you know who also sounded like a cartoon ( no imbeciele ) the second doctor.. but thats just part of his nature somethimes. But it seems this is useless discussuing you.. you name your own personal opinion like facts and act like every fan show thinks the same way. But your wrong, offcourse we could debate endless about YOU thinking Christopher Eccleston is not doctor like, but their is fun for me...
@LifterC3 Nuhu has dumber dialogue & a lack of vocabulary ESPECIALLY when compared to DW FACT! There is plenty of EVIDENCE that U can find on the INTERNET if you look up QUOTES from both series. So don't pretend that it's mere opinion!
Tennant clearly acts over the top he also runs around scooby-doo style in Love & Monsters. Just look at some of the thumbnails featuring Tennant's face. U aren't even convinced by your own argument, other wise you'd have evidence that Pat behaved like a cartoon
@LegoDaleks I am very much convinced of my own argument, tho evidence is hard to find. You want some dialogue proof: "
"Hes my servant, i will not let him risk his life"
Doctor: There is no danger now, unless i go he's affraid"
-servant grumbles-
Doctor: "Oh heh-.. no no... he is not affraid"
Love and Monsters was a shitty episode, everyone will agree on that. I would like to see those interveiws but as i already own the confidential dvd's i dont have to... come correct or not.
@LifterC3 What was that dialogue extract supposed to be proof of?
I was talking about interviews that I read, not seen on Confidential, but there are some things on Confidential that talk about that. Or maybe it was the audio commentary. I used to prefer listening to that than the actual Nu-hu episode, cuz the episode was so dumb.
& the Dr's clothes have almost always been strange & colourful. The 6th's is just more colourful, but at least that makes sense for the character & is true to DW
@LegoDaleks dialogue extract was proof that the second had his cartoonish moments to. But even though you read interviews or listened to them, i suggest you watch the TRUE confidentials, with real face to face interviews with the actors, the writers and also the wardrobe designers. The doctors cloathes have been strange but never have they been colorfull.. 1. black jacket 2. black jacket 3. diverated old fashioned 4. brown coat. 5. Yellow coat 6. colorfull. 7. white jacket. see..
@LifterC3 Tennant acts way over the top & cartoonish. Just look at one of the thumbnails in the suggested vids section & you'll see his overacting cartoony face looking back at U. I think all he's saying in that clip is "what?" but he does it way over the top. Other Dr's have said "what", but never in that over-the-top way.
I HAVE seen confidential -duh.
The 4th was definitely colourful & the 7th was almost as colourful as the 6th. U R kidding Urself if U describe 7's outfit as 'white jacket'
@LegoDaleks i was out of characters so i had to describe their cloathes a district as possible. The 7th doctor mostly wore a white-greyish jacket. The 4th doctor always wore a brown coat with long multicolored scarf. Later on the series his cloathes changed into a redish, scarlet. Those were the cloathes a normal, yet slightly out of fashioned person would carry. The 5th doctor wore ridiculus cloathes to ( selery on a jacket?? ) but atleast they suited him. Colin baker admitted he hated his coat.
@LifterC3 When did he admit this? In the interview I read Colin said he wanted to wear black like the Master but JNT said that was totally wrong fro the Dr. JNT suggested that it should be in bad taste & Colin liked the idea & agreed.
Guess what? There is more to their outfit then just the jacket. You'd have to be blind to ignore tom's scarf or McCoy's question mark vest. Those bits are the bits that stand out that everyone remembers, even you probably.
@LifterC3 So you admit then that my original statement was correct - The Dr always has strange colourful clothes, but the 6th's are just more colourful. That is true to the Dr as a character. Even though it is colourful it is still that Edwardian style. So anyone that looks at him knows that he looks like the Dr. Some northern skin head with a leather jacket does not depict the Dr accurately.
Ever since Eccleston, anyone wearing anything & sounding like anything can be the Dr.
@LegoDaleks and no!i proved your statement wrong, yes the doctor had strange cloathes, which has actually been brought back since series 5.But they changed by regeneration. Hartnell and Throughton wore stylish drags and so was the third. They were stylish. Offcourse its just about taste, but the 9th doctor had to resemble "rough" as he was rough. Davids tight suit was stylish with a tie, ( yes they were ) But never were their cloathes colorfull, they werent colorless... but not as full" as colin
@LifterC3 7 is most definitely colourful & I've already stated the 6th was MORE colourful. So what's your problem? The Dr, ever since his first incarnation has always been described as looking strange & unusual (hair & clothes) (see The Rescue). So 6's outfit is still true to the character. Whereas 9's appearance is obviously contrary to that. He just looks like a modern day northern low-life. There's nothing alienesque about him at all. He's the odd one out.
@LegoDaleks lol lol lololol, sylvester colorfull? The 1st and the 7th doctor were considered to e the doctor with the darkest personality... colin the clown wasnt more colorfull... he had a bitching aditute and was a irritating presense to be with. So the colorfull coat on goed in contrast with him. Colin actually wanted a black coat because of his dark personality and said the coat didnt fit very well, not in tone but in material aas well..
@LifterC3 Why call him: Colin-carrot-juice-Baker? The carrot juice thing was only in one of his adventures. That would be like calling Matt Smith: David-the-new-Tennant, since his Dr is just the same a Tennant's in ...all his adventures, just like Tennant's Dr was exactly like Eccleston. I know the actors act differently & look different, but they are all identical on paper (i.e. there's know personality difference or difference in actions or lines).
@LegoDaleks If you actually payed attention to the old series, you would have noticed every doctor wears different cloathes from the previous one.1 and 2 were almost identical yet different. But 3 was completly something else.and so was 4,and 5 and ( brrr) 6 and so was 7...so no shit doctor 9,10 and 11 had to be different to.
You honestly think if somebody walked down the street in Colins coat in the days Hartnell's doctor was on,somebody would say" Look, there's the doctor, o wait, its a clown"
@LifterC3 Really? they all wore something different? Wow. There's nothing wrong with 10 & 11's clothes. But the Dr always had an edwardian style. 9 lacks this completely. If you just look at the first 9 doctors, you can tell that eccleston is obviously the odd one out. Even the Americans had the right idea.
You have 0 point about the bit about Hartnell's heyday, cuz they hadn't made up regeneration by that time. Didn't you know?
@LegoDaleks If you cant see the difference between doc 10 and 11, you better want to clean your eyes of nostalgia... yes i know regeneration concept wasnt made up in the first doctor's era. in fact they called it re-newing untill Baker did it. "What??" is one doctor tens characterastics, just as his spectacles and his long coat. The 11th doctor's characterstics is his bow-ties and the habbit of calling uncool things cool. The scarfand the grin were the fourth doctors characterstics..
@LifterC3 All the nu-dr's characteristic is shout out any old dumb catchphrase like the b!tches they R. The spectacles R actually from 5 & a lot of the Dr's have long coats, so don't try & make those unique to 10.
Look at the difference in personality between 1&2 or 2&3 or 3&4 or 5&6 or 6&7 or 7&8 then if Nu-hu & the BBC haven't blinded U too much with their propaganda then you'll see that there is absolutely no difference between 9,10&11.
They R all the same shouty magic wand wielding teenager
@LegoDaleks It was just a example. If somebody walked in Colins ridiculus red coat in the days Hartnell was on, one would have thought he's lunatic who has just escaped from the Asylum. Nobody would turn their heads and say. Well look at that, he looks like the doctor from that syfy show does he? The 7th doctor's cloathes werent anything interesting or ecentric ( escept from the question mark ) in particulary but they suited his personality well.
@LifterC3 The fact still is 6 looks like the Dr whether U like it or not. And 9 doesn't look like the Dr & if U think he does then there is no limit to the amount of people that look like the Dr. Colin's outfit suits him & the Dr in general. In fact I don't think I've ever seen Colin wearing anything that suited him more. His acting was phenomenal as well. He could look dangerous & scary even whilst being dressed in those mismatched colourful clothes.
@LegoDaleks 9 doesnt look the doctor, he is the doctor... you offcourse can deny it if not to spoil your childhood memory's but i say Eccleston had a way more uniqye style then Colin the carrot juice Baker had. Offcourse we could debate endlessly about how his cloathes looked rediculus and Eccleston's one made sense...
Offcourse he could look scary, i for my case cant stand clowns.. and he sure was dangerous when he tryed to strangle Peri...
@LifterC3 If Eccleston looks like the Dr then there's no limit to the amount of ordinary people who look like the Dr. the Dr shouldn't look ordinary
It has nothing to do with childhood memories. It has to do with accuracy.
6 had just regenerated when he attempted to strangle Peri. He always acts odd after he regenerated. Instead of just acting silly again, 6 does something unique. People who criticise 6 for doing that don't know the 1rst thing about DW. 1 did something similar in his 1st ep
@LegoDaleks Well its not just about a doctor looks like ( even tho Mr Carrots clothes were downright emberassing ) its about the way he behaves that makes the character. The doctor has changed from a old grumpy, i say greedy old man to a passionate and mad hero, its called character development. Its seems pretty stupid to ignore 5 generations of character development and throw it back at the roots. The first doctor wasnt a pleasent to be with, but as he was first he can be forgiven. but...
@LifterC3 Do I need to state the obvious now? The Dr's personality always changed every time he regenerated from 63-89 BUT he still remained basically the same person i.e. there were somethings you knew the Dr would never say or do. In 2005 all these rules were broken. He's suddenly interested in romantic love, he quotes TV shows instead of literature, he's over-emotional & cries about any old rubbish, he makes irrational decisions & is generally less mature...(to be continued)
@purplebananafish AGAIN, good argument. All the evidence you gave is undeniable, unlike my lack of evidence. What an intelligent reply/comeback you gave.
@purplebananafish AGAIN, good argument. All the evidence you gave is undeniable, unlike my lack of evidence. What an intelligent reply/comeback you gave.
@purplebananafish sorry for the late reply, like somebody else, the doctor having a more childish nature could be explained. Remember Tom baker, no matter how brilliant he was, was a childish immature man compared to James Bond like Jon Pertwee. But it doesnt ruin the character much, it actually makes the character easier to watch and relate to. Eccentric and wise gentleman? he is still wise and eccentric you know, and Colin baker was no gentlemen but still ( you ) liked him.
No, it usually skips a second.

StarWarsDrWhoFan101 3 weeks ago
@StarWarsDrWhoFan101 No, the fact that you are wrong is what negates your statement. Maybe grow a pair and don't take it as a personal attack whenever a piece of media uses the word faith in a way you don't approve of. An atheist has faith that there is no god, by your logic this episode would make them abandon that and suddenly believe there is one.
capness1228 3 weeks ago
'The God Complex' is swipe at people of faith. If one is a religious person, than I find that this is entirely uncalled for. The episode is saying that this taking them back to their primary instincts or religious faith, than the Doctor said that in order to survive through this episode that you must abandon it, there for inferring that religion is fake and that believing is just instinctual. There for it infers to the audience that one should not believe in their god nor be religious. That

I ask you do the same.
mitmfan 1 month ago
@mitmfan Stating the obvious again: it is out of character for the Dr (supposedly 900 years old) to be head over heals in love with a 19 year old dimwit.
He wasn't in a relationship in the Aztects, he was under the influence of a love potion.
If the BBC makes sh!t shows, fine. But when they turn DW into a dumbed-down, unoriginal, uncreative, Americanised, repetitive, dated, cartoon soap about a teenage Casanova with a magic wand, then Whovians like myself will have something to say about it.
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
Ever since Jon Pertwee's era (and maybe even Patrick Troughton's era) the sonic screwdriver could do a whole lot of features. This isn't unique to the new series.
Sylvester McCoy, like Christopher Eccleston, had an accent as the Doctor, so if you don't like the fact Christopher had an accent, then you shouldn't also like the fact that Sylvester had an accent.
Just because Time Lords haven't been seen to change gender doesn't mean they can't.
mitmfan 1 month ago
@mitmfan Do I need to state the obvious? In the original DW the sonic screwdriver couldn't do very much, sometimes it couldn't even open doors. Nowadays in Nu-hu it has got limitless functions, just look up sonic screwdriver on Wikipedia if you don't believe me.
I don't just criticise any old show. I'm a Whovian & that's why I criticise Nu-hu for calling itself DW while being nothing like DW. If it's called DW it should be written like DW & that isn't too much to ask.
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks The new sonic screwdriver also can't open some doors, just like the classic series Doctor Who. The classic series sonic screwdriver could do a whole lot of things just like the new series sonic screwdriver.
As for the Doctor's catchphrases, the Second Doctor had "When I say run, run" and "Oh my giddy aunt". Also, is this just the hero that can't have a catchphrase or does that apply to villains as well?
mitmfan 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks Why can't McCoy's and Eccleston's accent be compared? You said you didn't want the Doctor to have an accent yet they both have accents. (This in particular makes me think you're ignoring McCoy's accent just so you can have another "reason" to hate the new series.)
Why is it out of character for the Doctor to be in love? (I'm not giving my views on his relationship; I just want to why the Doctor have a relationship at all is out of character.
mitmfan 1 month ago
@mitmfan The Dr is supposed to be an infinitely wise person, he doesn't have time for romance&sex. Also those things are too base to be the central part of DW. Romance is a dull, overdone, repetitive, base subject that should be in shows about low-lives like CoronationStreet or on DisneyPrincessfilms. The adventure, the monsters, sci-fi & all-round good characters & story-telling is what DW should be about
Weren't U around in 96? Whovians at the time agreed that the kiss was totally wrong for DW
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@mitmfan (continued) I can't even hear McCoy's "accent". I never even knew he had one or that it was a scottish accent. THAT's how mild it is. American's can understand him without subtitles (you can't say that about most "Scottish" accents).
I could clearly hear that Eccleston has an accent. Even ReTarD who has no problem with changing DW without explanation had Rose question why he had a northern accent if he's an alien. So it clearly stands out. compare 9 to the other 8 - he's the odd 1 out.
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks In that case, perhaps my confusion lies with why an infinitely wise person doesn't have time for romance.
I do disagree with you about romance being the central part of DW. There are a part of it, but not the central part. While not necessary for a show to survive, I believe romance can be an acceptable part of any TV show.
mitmfan 1 month ago
@mitmfan Unless U R a fangirl who is in love with him & loves the idea of this man's true love & "loyalty" to Rose, I find it hard to respect him ,cuz after every1 he met & everything he's seen, after all that, he declares his unconditional love for some low-life 19 year old Londoner.
Then that is even contradicted in Girl in the Fireplace. So he's a jerk as well.
If he was going to fall in love then why not with his equal...well Rose is sort of the Nu-dr's equal, but only cuz of how dumb he is
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks I always thought "Who da man" was something like when someone says "Doctor Who?" and the Doctor replies "Exactly" or when the First Doctor said (in The Chase) something like "Now we know who's Who" (i.e. a tongue-in-check way of supposedly being "called" Doctor Who, or something like that)
Also, how is "Geromino" different than "Oh my giddy aunt"?
mitmfan 1 month ago
@mitmfan Do I really need to tell you the difference??? I suppose I do since U just like to pretend you don't know for argument's sake.
'Geronimo' was purposely made up to be the Dr's new catchphrase & it totally failed. It was pasted in in places where it didn't fit in a perfectly contrived way.
"Who da man" is an Americanism (modern America likes replacing words like 'the' with 'da'). That line, as well as his apology for it, was totally cringe-worthy.
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks I really don't know; I'm not pretending to not know. I just want to point out that just because it makes sense to you doesn't mean it makes sense to me or to everyone else.
I'm still not sure how "Geronimo" is different than "Oh my giddy aunt".
One more thing--about the accents: Why exactly can't the Doctor have different accents? Borusa had a different accent in one of his incarnations--so did the Master. I don't think it was ever established that they can't change accents.
mitmfan 1 month ago
@mitmfan Again, even ReTarD had Rose question his accent. ReTarD knew that it didn't make sense, Rose knew it didn't make sense & even the Dr didn't have an answer to her query.
'Geronimo' was purposely made to be a catchphrase & so purposely plastered into the episodes with the intent that it is something he says a lot & something Nuvians should copy. It is contrived. Look up the word: contrived.
"Oh my giddy aunt" was just a line like any other. It developed naturally & flowed well & fits.
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks It appears that you don't like the fact that Rose questioned the Doctor's accent not the fact that he had an accent.
It also appears that you feel like Geronimo was said a lot of times in any place possible (although it wasn't actually said all that much) whereas Oh my giddy aunt was said only where it made sense. Therefore, it would appear that your problem is not with it being a catchphrase but with how/when it's used.
mitmfan 1 month ago
@mitmfan No, it doesn't 'appear' that I don't like that Rose questioned it. Rose questioning it was proof to back up my argument.
Catchphrases R beneath DW, especially those that appear contrived. "Bow ties are cool" doesn't make sense for the Dr to say repeatedly. If he was going to say it at all (which would have been bad enough) then he should have just said it once.
What's the point in a nonsensical catchphrase? It may have a point in a SketchShow or cartoon, but not in quality shows like DW
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
I view Oh my giddy aunt as a catchphrase yet you have nothing aganist that. However, you did say Geronimo was contrived and inserted even if it didn't make sense, so it would make sense to not like how a catchphrase is being used, since I don't see how Oh my giddy aunt is not a catchphrase.
Also, I must have missed you answering my question--it doesn't show which question it is, but I'm thinking it's why you just don't avoid new series Doctor Who videos.
mitmfan 1 month ago
@mitmfan Geronimo was made up by Steven Muppet who INTENDED it to be the Dr's new catchphrase. Oh my giddy aunt was not INTENDED by the production team for it to be the Dr's catchphrase. Fans only consider it that after the fact. Oh my tidy aunt actually fits in with all the rest of the dialogue. He says it more than once, but it makes sense at least.
Is it really completely beyond your understanding?
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks I always thought a catchphrase was something that a character repeats often.
Also, sometimes it takes a while for someone to understand something.
Since I somehow cannot seem to find your comment on why you complain about this show as opposed to just ignoring these videos, would you mind repeating your reason?

My main statement isn't stop watching Nuhu, it's: start watching DW. The reason people enjoy Nuhu is because of their ignorance, which I can also prove.
Nuhu deserves to be criticised
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks No, no, no. You can't find proof about stuff like that, because everything you find is biased and completely based on your opinion alone. Opinion can never be fact. Also, newsflash: Many DW fans watch the old stuff AND the new stuff. You can like both.

LegoDaleks 1 month ago

It is a children's show. Despite how entertaining it is for teenagers and adults its original target audience was children.
purplebananafish 1 month ago
@purplebananafish Notice you put the world 'original target audience'. When do you think it changed over to target an older audience? Soon after the first couple of Doctors, where the show was able to build their sets and villains out of more than styrofoam and aluminum sheeting? Much of the content of Doctor Who is a bit intense for children, and many of the concepts presented are things children can't and/or weren't meant to understand. 'Blink' even scares some adults...

@Naurdagnor
For example, a child most likely wouldn't understand all the themes about faith in The God Complex but still enjoy it
purplebananafish 4 weeks ago
@purplebananafish Most of those children are watching it alongside their parents, enjoying the few bits they truly do grasp. But saying Doctor Who targets children as their main audience would be like saying Star Gate and Star Trek are doing the same. Truly, it's the Science Fiction genre that fascinates children since it stimulates their creative minds to 'believe' in the aliens and technology shown in the show. In truth, it's just intriguing colors and sounds. Plot is missed.
Naurdagnor 4 weeks ago
@purplebananafish The deeper meanings, concepts, jokes, character development, side-happenings, subtler body language, and several psychological matters undetectable by the children are what target the older audiences, and that has become a greater part of the show than it ever once was. Doctor Who was discontinued a couple decades ago because it was lacking in popularity, yet now all of a sudden it has exploded, not just in Britain (again), but also the US. What did that?

Going to have to disagree with you there. Classic Who still had lots of subtext (the anti-racsim in Remberance of the Daleks, the anti-war theme of The War Games, Ace being a lesbian etc).

@LegoDaleks Interesting evidence. To support your claim that new DW has bad quotes, you say look up quotes as if we can identify on our own why new DW quotes are inferior to classic DW quotes. The whole point of evidence is for you to point it out to us; not for us to try to find it for ourselves.
I just want you to accept the fact that some people like new DW and there's nothing anyone can do about it (like I'm accepting the fact some people hate it & there's nothing I can do).

humankitten 1 month ago
@humankitten What's your point? Are you somehow suggesting that the line "Would you like a jelly baby?" can be compared to catchphrases in Nu-hu, like "Bow-ties are cool."?
The Dr just frequently asks different people if they would like a jelly baby. That actually makes sense. Randomly repeating to the same crew that bow-ties are cool is nonsensical. That kind of crap should only be acceptable on cartoons on CBBC.
The Dr in Nu-hu doesn't have intelligent dialogue, unlike the 1st-7th Dr.

LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 6's clothes didn't make him unrelatable to or unrealistic. His clothes, undeniably, still have that Edwardian feel, which all the Dr's have, except for 9.
10&11 just added the same things that 9 already did. 9 was the over-emotional, immature, irrational one, then the other 2 were just copies of that, except their wands have more functions.
I said 6 is most like 1 than any of the others, obviously not exactly the same. & if a Dr is to be like another Dr, then why not like the 1st?

@WorldWalker128 Keep in my mind that your opinion isnt the only one that counts. Your maybe thinking that Doctor Who is utterly crap these days, but their are many... i say many... fans who disagree with you on that. I did not say the kids these days have become dumber, but their taste has developed over the years, and we can take into consideration because television itself has developed. A 4 part is the lenght of a movie, i know... which is why a episode and a story arc are 2 different things.
LifterC3 1 month ago
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks dude, i respect your opinion but not the way you bring it. Just because people dont agree with your taste doesnt mean they are dumb. catchphrases are short notable lines which suit a certain character and makes them reckonazible... you wanna add vocubalary to a catchphrase? lol. you mean "Would you like a Jelly baby" and "carrot juice" was such supiriour laughuage? speaking of which.. classic doctor who got shitty after Peter Davidson left, after that the story's just sucked.
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 Catchphrases like those belong a cartoon, not DW. If it's called DW, it should be written like DW, that isn't too much to ask.
Carrot juice isn't a catchphrase. All U need to do is search the net a bit & the evidence of DW having a greater vocab than Nu-hu will be in front of your face.
Actually the stories 6's stories were better. 6 got better original enemies like The Rani, Sil The Valyard. All 5 got was The Gravis. If U look up quotes U'll discover that 6&7 got better lines than 5
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks You say doctor 9, 10 and 11 are irrational, immature, hormonal, magic-wand wielding, cartoon Casanova. You say the fourth doctor wasnt immature somethimes, you say the 6th doctor, who strangeled his compagnions and bitched at everything he encountered wasnt irrational and hormonal somethimes? Casanova? sure... if you say thats a bad thing you clearly dont have much luck with girls then. And a story arc isnt the same a parter episode. Its a set-up for a series finale.
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 A story arc isn't the same a 4parter -duh. The story arcs in Nu-hu R crap. The Dr isn't Casanova, so obviously it would be untrue for the character to behave that way. It has nothing to do with me being jealous or my lifestyle. Otherwise I'd be complaining about him visiting alien planets.
6 wasn't irrational.10 irrationally attempts to save people who need to die, despite what 1 said in reign of terror & what 5 said in Arc of Infinity. So he is less mature even though he's older.
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks Guess it? the second doctor was less mature then the first. And the fourth doctor was less mature then the third. The sixth doctor had no personallity except at bitching at things with a teeth itching accent. The seventh was pretty serious but had its less mature moments with Ace. The eight doctor had onky once appearence. In case you dont get the hint, the doctors personality changes after he regenerates even in the classic show, in fact they got more childish with each incarnation
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 No, they didn't make immature & irrational DECISIONS. All the original Dr's actions were rational (what I mean is they were responsible), they didn't just behave like a five year old having a tantrum (see Victory "I am the Dr & you are the Daleks!!) Nu-hu Rose is more rational than the Dr. (see Dalek) & the woman in Waters of Mars is more rational than nu-dr. 6 is more like 1 than any of the others. In the examples I gave the Dr in nuhu behaves irresponsibly irrational & immature.
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks Give better arguments. Why! do you think they are irrational/inresponible.Rose was more rational than the doctor? sure. You think the ninth doctor should have let the dalek( the most dangerous being in the universe ) go to freedom? you think the doctor wasnt rational when he chose to save earth by sacrificing pompei? you think he wasnt rational when he sacrificed himself to seal the cracks? But do you think doctor nr. 4 was responsible when he decided the daleks should live?
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 The 4th obviously didn't irrationally not kill the Daleks because he pitied them. Rose knew that the emo Dalek in Dalek was helpless & not hostile while an over-emotional Dr is prepared to shoot it with a fat gun. 10 was irrational to save that family that they got to know. In The Massacre 1 tells Steven that the people had to die cuz they can't re-write history, even a woman they got to know. He was firm & responsible. 10's actions were neither of these in Pompeii & Waters & others.
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks Yeah, the 4th doctor was really smart to give the Daleks pity even though he knew they might exterminate all other lifeforms in existence. but what the hell, lets give them pity... who the fuck cares about the cute innocent people... the doctor is suposse to be responsible. And so was the 9th doctor by destroying the Daleks and the Timelords to save the whole universe. However the 9th doctor was rational when he didnt want to use the Delta wave to kill humans and Daleks alike.
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 The 4rth didn't pity them. Have U watched Genesis? At the end they were entombed & so that just set the them back a bit, without having to wipe out an entire race. It could also be seen as a test by the Timelords, cuz their laws forbid genocide. So if he had killed them all then Trial of a Timelord wouldn't have worked. If Nu-hu had done Genesis, then first of all it wouldn't be as good, and second of all he would have wiped them all out & then a million more would return next season.
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks The Dalek helpless? it was armed goddamed. not-hostile... it killed 200 personal dead and was about to be releashed into the open world. Also Rose didnt knew single bloody thing about the Daleks, while the doctor knew their terror. Whovians might dislike the 9th doctor the most because he resembled to much of the old doctor's incarnation while 10 and 11 had their own. Also because 9th had only 1 intro series, whereas the others got 3... see the link...
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 The Dalek wasn't hostile. And apparently the Dr didn't know that the Dalek turned into a suicidal emo-Dalek, but Rose did, cuz it took her emotions or some old rubbish.
FYI 9 is the least like the Dr. - he's got the wrong attitude, morals & maturity levels (just like 10 & 11) plus he's got the wrong clothes, haircut & accent. So how does that make him MORE like the original Dr's?
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks ( continue )or else would make no sense in making him regenerate.
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 (continued) The original Dr's wouldn't have done those stupid things I named. In DW his personality changes when he regenerates but he always has the same morals & basic personality. 9 behaves completely unlike the Dr then he regenerates into 10 & his personality doesn't change, he's still got 9's personality, the same goes for 11. The actors might try a bit to act differently but the writers make no attempt to change the Dr's personality.
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks Dman your so ignorant. The doctors personality did change when over from 9 to 10. 9 was sirous and shed by the Time war, he had dark moments when he decided one should better be dead then to be rescued. He insulted his compagnions whereas Tennant praised them very high as the "best". 11th is different from the 10th. He is more a grown up childish, hes more enjoyable then any of the doctor has ever been, he;s happy but deadly sirous sometimes and energic
LifterC3 1 month ago

LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 There are sooooo many Whovians who think that 9 is actually the worst & least like the Dr of the Nu-ones. Nuvians & Whovians agree that he couldn't act. He's got an unexplained regional accent, which magically disappears after he regenerates. He's shaved all his hair off & wears a leather jacket. One couldn't look, sound or act less like the Dr if one tried. The Dr is supposed to be a gentleman & an eccentric who is wise, not a northern counsel-estate kid.
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LifterC3 (continued) In Armageddon Factor Drax's accent is explained. But ReTarD is less competent than the writers of the 70's.
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks accent? what accent... oh i guess you mean Sylvester Mccoy's stupid scottish accent... well your right about that :P atleast David Tennant was motivated enough to supress his scottish accent into a perfect british one. I guess you prefer Colin Bakers stjupjid colorly rainbow coat... fanboyism lalalala... shaved hair, you mean short cut.. atleast RTD had a reason for giving every doctor a unique style, the worn of leathery jacket was suposse to resemble him being a worn of traveler...
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 Tennant sounds like a cartoon imbecile when he's playing the Dr. It would have been a lot better if he'd played it like himself.
McCoy has only the remnants of an accent. Real Scottish accents need subtitles, but the Americans understand McCoy just fine. If McCoy had Tennant's accent back in the day, he would have never got the job.
You can't compare how McCoy sounds to how Eccleston sounds. Rose even asks him why he's got a northern accent, but ReTarD doesn't even attempt an excuse.
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks you know who also sounded like a cartoon ( no imbeciele ) the second doctor.. but thats just part of his nature somethimes.

LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks I am very much convinced of my own argument, tho evidence is hard to find. You want some dialogue proof: "
"Hes my servant, i will not let him risk his life"
Doctor: There is no danger now, unless i go he's affraid"
-servant grumbles-
Doctor: "Oh heh-.. no no... he is not affraid"
Love and Monsters was a shitty episode, everyone will agree on that. I would like to see those interveiws but as i already own the confidential dvd's i dont have to... come correct or not.
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 What was that dialogue extract supposed to be proof of?
I was talking about interviews that I read, not seen on Confidential, but there are some things on Confidential that talk about that. Or maybe it was the audio commentary. I used to prefer listening to that than the actual Nu-hu episode, cuz the episode was so dumb.
& the Dr's clothes have almost always been strange & colourful. The 6th's is just more colourful, but at least that makes sense for the character & is true to DW
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 Tennant acts way over the top & cartoonish. Just look at one of the thumbnails in the suggested vids section & you'll see his overacting cartoony face looking back at U. I think all he's saying in that clip is "what?" but he does it way over the top. Other Dr's have said "what", but never in that over-the-top way.
I HAVE seen confidential -duh.
The 4th was definitely colourful & the 7th was almost as colourful as the 6th. U R kidding Urself if U describe 7's outfit as 'white jacket'
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks i was out of characters so i had to describe their cloathes a district as possible. The 7th doctor mostly wore a white-greyish jacket. The 4th doctor always wore a brown coat with long multicolored scarf. Later on the series his cloathes changed into a redish, scarlet. Those were the cloathes a normal, yet slightly out of fashioned person would carry. The 5th doctor wore ridiculus cloathes to ( selery on a jacket?? ) but atleast they suited him. Colin baker admitted he hated his coat.
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 When did he admit this? In the interview I read Colin said he wanted to wear black like the Master but JNT said that was totally wrong fro the Dr. JNT suggested that it should be in bad taste & Colin liked the idea & agreed.
Guess what? There is more to their outfit then just the jacket. You'd have to be blind to ignore tom's scarf or McCoy's question mark vest. Those bits are the bits that stand out that everyone remembers, even you probably.
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks are you blind? Read my comment again and you will see i wrote this.
-The 4th doctor always wore a brown coat with long multicolored scarf.-
And yes, i remember Mccoys question mark vest, just as him question mark umbrella.
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 So you admit then that my original statement was correct - The Dr always has strange colourful clothes, but the 6th's are just more colourful. That is true to the Dr as a character. Even though it is colourful it is still that Edwardian style. So anyone that looks at him knows that he looks like the Dr. Some northern skin head with a leather jacket does not depict the Dr accurately.
Ever since Eccleston, anyone wearing anything & sounding like anything can be the Dr.
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks and no!i proved your statement wrong, yes the doctor had strange cloathes, which has actually been brought back since series 5.But they changed by regeneration. Hartnell and Throughton wore stylish drags and so was the third. They were stylish. Offcourse its just about taste, but the 9th doctor had to resemble "rough" as he was rough. Davids tight suit was stylish with a tie, ( yes they were ) But never were their cloathes colorfull, they werent colorless... but not as full" as colin
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 7 is most definitely colourful & I've already stated the 6th was MORE colourful. So what's your problem? The Dr, ever since his first incarnation has always been described as looking strange & unusual (hair & clothes) (see The Rescue). So 6's outfit is still true to the character. Whereas 9's appearance is obviously contrary to that. He just looks like a modern day northern low-life. There's nothing alienesque about him at all. He's the odd one out.
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks lol lol lololol, sylvester colorfull? The 1st and the 7th doctor were considered to e the doctor with the darkest personality... colin the clown wasnt more colorfull... he had a bitching aditute and was a irritating presense to be with. So the colorfull coat on goed in contrast with him. Colin actually wanted a black coat because of his dark personality and said the coat didnt fit very well, not in tone but in material aas well..
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks Colin-carrotjuice-Baker was offcourse a clown with a doctor rank. So he had to dressed as such.
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 Why call him: Colin-carrot-juice-Baker? The carrot juice thing was only in one of his adventures. That would be like calling Matt Smith: David-the-new-Tennant, since his Dr is just the same a Tennant's in ...all his adventures, just like Tennant's Dr was exactly like Eccleston. I know the actors act differently & look different, but they are all identical on paper (i.e. there's know personality difference or difference in actions or lines).
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks If you actually payed attention to the old series, you would have noticed every doctor wears different cloathes from the previous one.1 and 2 were almost identical yet different. But 3 was completly something else.and so was 4,and 5 and ( brrr) 6 and so was 7...so no shit doctor 9,10 and 11 had to be different to.
You honestly think if somebody walked down the street in Colins coat in the days Hartnell's doctor was on,somebody would say" Look, there's the doctor, o wait, its a clown"
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 Really? they all wore something different? Wow. There's nothing wrong with 10 & 11's clothes. But the Dr always had an edwardian style. 9 lacks this completely. If you just look at the first 9 doctors, you can tell that eccleston is obviously the odd one out. Even the Americans had the right idea.
You have 0 point about the bit about Hartnell's heyday, cuz they hadn't made up regeneration by that time. Didn't you know?
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
@LegoDaleks If you cant see the difference between doc 10 and 11, you better want to clean your eyes of nostalgia... yes i know regeneration concept wasnt made up in the first doctor's era. in fact they called it re-newing untill Baker did it. "What??" is one doctor tens characterastics, just as his spectacles and his long coat. The 11th doctor's characterstics is his bow-ties and the habbit of calling uncool things cool. The scarfand the grin were the fourth doctors characterstics..
LifterC3 1 month ago
@LifterC3 All the nu-dr's characteristic is shout out any old dumb catchphrase like the b!tches they R. The spectacles R actually from 5 & a lot of the Dr's have long coats, so don't try & make those unique to 10.
Look at the difference in personality between 1&2 or 2&3 or 3&4 or 5&6 or 6&7 or 7&8 then if Nu-hu & the BBC haven't blinded U too much with their propaganda then you'll see that there is absolutely no difference between 9,10&11.
They R all the same shouty magic wand wielding teenager
LegoDaleks 1 month ago
