I think it's cute how over the years the notion of the Illuminati has gone viral on the interwebs, and the more rampant the conspiracy theories become, the more Hollywood punches out films about this so-called "extinct" secret society. Either they're cashing in on the sensationalism as they typically do, or someone's covert operations might be in jeopardy so they're trying to sway the doggy away from the curtain. But it's all just so cute, you could pinch its cheeks.

Dan Brown wrote Angels & Demons BEFORE The Da Vinci Code. so you can't call this The Da Vinci Code part 2, especially considering that the stories are not all that related

The movie was good, but the book was better. But it's understandable since the book had to much info to pour into a script. In any case Angels & Demons was alot better then The Da Vinci Code. TDVC lacked the one thing A&D did have: pace. My 2 cents.

The books were so much better. Ron Howard keeps fucking up the movies. If you can't do it right, that includes the actors they story line and the plot then don't do it at all. That jack ass. Am I the only one that thinks these movies could have been done so much better?
I just watched this movie and from someone who loves religious themes, Howard, Hanks, McGregor and intellectual stuff plus action, it was pretty bad.
I couldn't suspend my disbelief for a second in this film, and everytime I tried, I'd get slapped in the face with the next unlikely event or instamatic clue solution.
The science/religion speech was just plain awful. I've never had anyone try to jam something so transparently contrived down my throat since Steven Segal's, "On Deadly Ground".
I still can't discern whether it was bad acting or just that the pacing was so far out of whack that the cast couldn't do anything with it. I must assume the latter - much as it pains me to say it.
I figure there was a lot of ground for the film to cover from the book - you get similar pacing issues with the Harry Potter films - but I'd expect a seasoned and rock solid director like Ron Howard to handle it way, way, WAY better than this.
i dont think it was bad acting, i think the movie was just directed and set up wrong. key scenes from the book is also missing. the movie was way to slow and the most epic and breathtaking scene i had imagined in the end with the camerlengo standing on top of st peter church stays in my memory..
Angels And Demons Novel came out before The Da Vinci Code. But Angels and Demons the movie takes place after the events of The Da Vinci Code movie. There are slight references to the first film in Angels and Demons.

If book can be rated with 9/10,this movie should be rated about 4-5/10...The story is hardly the same.The movie share some things with the book,but the book is another story.IF you have the chance to read it, do so.

I read the book, although i'm not a read-fanatic but this book just took-over my mind. Those firemarks are so interrested and the woman who lost her father, who's name i forgot, in my fantasy she was so hot =P

I think it's cute how over the years the notion of the Illuminati has gone viral on the interwebs, and the more rampant the conspiracy theories become, the more Hollywood punches out films about this so-called "extinct" secret society. Either they're cashing in on the sensationalism as they typically do, or someone's covert operations might be in jeopardy so they're trying to sway the doggy away from the curtain. But it's all just so cute, you could pinch its cheeks.

Dan Brown wrote Angels & Demons BEFORE The Da Vinci Code. so you can't call this The Da Vinci Code part 2, especially considering that the stories are not all that related

@obiwan544 so apparently giving someone correct information consitutes name calling. How old are you? have you read any of the books? there are references IN the davinci code, to "when Langdon almost died" in Rome, which is where Angels and Demons takes place.
So obviously angels and demons was written first, and davinci code came after it. Again, If you dont believe me check Dan Brown's website, and read his interviews. And if you want an answer to your question, google it.

The movie was good, but the book was better. But it's understandable since the book had to much info to pour into a script. In any case Angels & Demons was alot better then The Da Vinci Code. TDVC lacked the one thing A&D did have: pace. My 2 cents.

The books were so much better. Ron Howard keeps fucking up the movies. If you can't do it right, that includes the actors they story line and the plot then don't do it at all. That jack ass. Am I the only one that thinks these movies could have been done so much better?

I just watched this movie and from someone who loves religious themes, Howard, Hanks, McGregor and intellectual stuff plus action, it was pretty bad.
I couldn't suspend my disbelief for a second in this film, and everytime I tried, I'd get slapped in the face with the next unlikely event or instamatic clue solution.
The science/religion speech was just plain awful. I've never had anyone try to jam something so transparently contrived down my throat since Steven Segal's, "On Deadly Ground".

I still can't discern whether it was bad acting or just that the pacing was so far out of whack that the cast couldn't do anything with it. I must assume the latter - much as it pains me to say it.
I figure there was a lot of ground for the film to cover from the book - you get similar pacing issues with the Harry Potter films - but I'd expect a seasoned and rock solid director like Ron Howard to handle it way, way, WAY better than this.

Angels And Demons Novel came out before The Da Vinci Code. But Angels and Demons the movie takes place after the events of The Da Vinci Code movie. There are slight references to the first film in Angels and Demons.
Both movies are great.
