How does this guy not know how to use the PS3 at all and is giving a review.
Sharp press of the PS button will bring up the in-game XMB at which point you would have got the friends list and get the guys name.
The character is saved to the console, hence why the guy to got it off didn't appear to have one setup.
You could have accessed HOME off your own account instead of off his account. Also note once it is downloading the other guys account can be removed from your system.
