Its amazing that someone could say that the artist WHO CREATED THE SONG doesn't have the right to play it how he is feeling at that moment..... if your looking for canned, lip synced performances, than your at the wrong place...... milly vanilly has some songs for you....
I love this version, you guys are just all butthurt because Lou is experimenting with the song. I swear, if people don't hear a song like it was on a record then they get all mad and offended. It's his song and he can sing it and play it anyway he damn well pleases.
What is the rush Lou? What is the so wrong with the singing and playing of this once great song know from the Banana record. Asshole. And miss you RIP Robert Quine I would never know this was the great Quine playing. bop bop baby. Tired of you Lou for years .. you are better categorized as a poet. Drugs fried you brains and you need more shock treatments or something ....
@MundayMotion I might not have like parties enough or I didn't listen enough. I was not into John Cale, I suppose. I guess I'm not "a reall fan" as I just like the first 3 songs on side 1 & 2. Sunday Morning and Waiting for my Man are great.
This was pre-disco. The song's from like 1966 haha. And I don't care if he's playing Bluegrass- Saunder's Bass Lines are so fat they're morbidly obese. This is one of the least fucked up Velvets songs Lou has done.
I have several CD boots of 85-86, all "poppy" with guitars so low in the mix! Such a shame!!!! Thank god the aberration only lasted a couple of years.

Nice live version... A little bit "80's disco style" but still fine.
