Maureen, as a lad I sang a test piece for James, when I'd finished, he looked over the piano and said "Gingle's son, can''t sing? Can't sing!, me arse' and with that I was in the operetta. The piece had the beginning; The summer sun sank to it's bed behind Eoghil, the last light of day lay on Balla................... I have never heard of it since. You wouldn't happen to know of it?
this is really good .. i wish i could sing this like you .. im singing this song in the scór on the twentieth of november. im 12 so its kinda hard :S x
Very lovely indeed Maureen. Know what it's like having sleepless nights. I've had tendinitis in my left shoulder for almost a year. Got an injection last week and boy, I've been snoring like a pig every night since. LOL
Your lovely voice suits this old song so beautifully.I have an old Delia Murphy recording of this .Carmel Quinn made it a favourite in America...Your lovely photos of the sunsets on The Foyle are breathtaking...You are truly blessed! Slan Don
Thanks Kate...there are some positive things about moving house! I find it funny listening to early recordings. It is my voice ok but a much younger sound.
Thank you.

What a beautiful sonorous voice, perfect piano accompaniment, and fantastic photos, notwithstanding the back pain that prompted their existence.
Are the photos from the home you moved to or from the home you departed. If from which departed, I am not sure I would have left that scenic beauty.
