is there a dimarzio blaze pickup for a six string? i just got a new guitar and i might wanna put one in it, but its a six string, not a seven so i'd like to know.
@Fluffypopcicle Yeah even the Dimarzio website says the Blaze bridge "bears a strong resemblance to the Steve’s Special" which is the one John Petrucci had in his RG (with an air norton neck)
There is a Blaze Custom that is different (the mids aren't 'scooped')
I agree, some of the mashalls on the production line are crap. Your basically rolling the dice. Get some thing else. You may also want to change the pickups to Anderson or Suhr pickups. They are high quality and very clear
hey man awesome sound! thanks for sharing. I have a question, I've recently just bought a 7 banger a rg7321.. I know it has shit pickups so I'm buying a dimarzio blaze neck for the bridge position, wat else can I do to clean up the muddyness of the big bad boy? wat sorta amp should I be looking for or can my marshall avt 1000 give a good sound? thanx
makes sense... i'm getting an evo7 and a blaze neck put into my 7620... u may want to check out the evo7 i hear good things about that one too i'll have it in a week i'll let ya know...
Ya I am looking at the Evo7 too but I am shying away from it since my Rg2570 has an Evo bridge and if the Evo7 sounds like it will sound good but why have the same sounding pickup in 2 guitars when I could have so differences from guitar to guitar.
excellent point. didn't know that. i hear the blazes have that nu metal scooped mids sound which may or may not be good for u. if u prefer more mids i hear the blaze custom is the way to go. i could be wrong but i think it has slightly more mids and bass than the evo but it's still pretty clear sounding
I saw the blaze customs in a forum post once but didn't think too much of it. I'll be sure to look at every pickup and try and find the best tone for me before I buy. I'm even thinking about getting some white pickups instead of black. Just if I decided I liked Paf7's then I couldn't get white.
i really wish i could get hold of a set of blazes

No. The most similar is a paf-pro or a breed.

@ericmelvin10 OR a Steve's Special for the Bridge
guysullavin 1 year ago
@Fluffypopcicle actually the steves special is virtually identical to the blaze

I'll put a evolution 7 in bridge, and pad7 or blaze in neck.
Then, drop that crappy marshall and buy a real TUBE amp! ;)

How do you feel about the Blaze pickups? I am thinking about getting some white ones for my 1527.
cowcrusher 2 years ago
umm.... how do YOU feel about them... u're hearing them right now and YOU'RE the one thinking about buying em...
Inkawgneegrow 2 years ago
Well I mean its hard to say by a video, "oh yeah those sound great on MY settings and MY gear."
I'll probably get them anyway for my 1527 but more input from someone who owns them is nice.

If you want vintage low-gain --> Paf pro 7
If you want full screaming hi-gain --> Evo7
If you want power and definition --> D-sonic7
All in between --> Blaze.
ericmelvin10 2 years ago
I got an Evo7 and Blaze neck because I figured that so I'm glad I chose the two.
My Ibanez 7 I am going to build is probably going to have bare knuckles in it.
cowcrusher 2 years ago
The Bare Knucle are really good pickups, but I like most for a Les Paul model.
For a 7 string, I prefer Dimarzio
