Judging by what you've just said, I can already tell the "Hardcore" songs you've listened to are by bands like Pierce The Veil and Dance Gavin Dance. Those fuckers give Post-Hardcore a bad name.

Define your terms of recent, because Dance Gavin Dance's first album may have helped the scene out a little bit, but you're forgetting about the key bands of the modern post-hardcore movement, like Thrice, Thursday, Hopesfall, Alexisonfire (Especially them.), and hell, let's put Senses Fail on there, but even that's pushing it a little bit.

I definitely agree that the bands you named are probably the founders of modern post-hardcore, but the over satuaration of bands in it nowadays had kinda ruined my appreciation of the genre. Gotta love these Wave bands however, heartfelt, unrefinned, and underproduced hardcore.
