  • The best system I've seen so far ! Question. Where and how does your hot/bk drain at? Do you use a dip tube or a do you have you fitting located right on the bottom of the pot?

Also I want to use food grade hoses with tri clamps instead of copper/ ss lines. Would I be able to hook up the automatic valve operations to ferrule valves ? Is that what the blue devices are ?

  • love it. putting together my brewtroller electric system now with three kettles... wondering what parts you used for you adjustable lock line and if they're food grade? i've seen them used for coolant in CNC machines but never in the brew industry. where can you get those? again awesome system!

  • I like your loc-line sparge arm, very clever. Could you post what the actual parts you used for it? Thanks and great set up.

  • Sweet system, thank you for sharing. Many fantastic brews, Cheers.

  • GREAT job and thanks for posting it! I was proud of myself for gettin' some cornys and finally kegging...but have a LOT to learn. It's great that there are folks like you that are willing to share what you have learned and also your projects with the rest of us. It's pretty cool. -Jim in Duluth

  • SWEET.......

    BREW ON !

  • Impressive. You are the envy of many home brewers! We've "favorited" your video!

  • @midwestsupplies

    Thanks guys!

  • Fantastic system. Quite the opposite of mine. I am constantly changing hoses from one pot to the other. How do you clean it? CIP?

  • @TheBieberlover25

    Thanks!

Yea, I clean out the mash tun by hand, then vacuum it out with a shop vac. It then goes into a CIP cycle with hot PBW.

  • This is awesome

  • You have a great setup but your technique could be improved upon. I didn't see you use a hydrometer or refractometer to measure your gravity, did you hit your original gravity?

I see lots of hot wort splashing about which can lead to hot side aeration which is no good for the flavor. Your sparging process leaves sugars in the grain bed which really hurts your efficiency. Consider fly sparging. All in all you have a great setup and should be proud.

  • @sub2k11

With all due respect, do you think I built a system like this without knowing how to brew?

  • @sub2k11 HSA is an overblown fear among homebrewers. Further, I'm not sure how you could consider fly sparging in a two-vessel system.

  • @pfooti You bring up a great point, in order to fly-sparge you'd need a third vessel. I wasn't trying to say it can be done in a two vessel system but I felt it was worth mentioning seeing how it would greatly improve his efficiency rating. As for HSA, perhaps it is an overblown fear but it isn't without its merit.

  • Sweet gravy steak! I NEED this!

  • You are my hero. Someday when I get to the north side, it'd be cool to see it in action. I'll bring the Doritos. =)

  • Holy bananas that is beautiful.
