It takes a frenchman to tell a story involving love between an asian man and a white woman. I sense there is a more accepting attitude among the French than Americans concerning putting asian men in lead roles in movies especially a movie where the opposite is a white actress. This movie was made almost 20 years ago, a theme Hollywood neglected to promote back then, because they are run by racist white males protecting their interests from Asian males. Hollywood only degrades asian males.
