Okay, but let's start....

£18.3 billion per year is a scare tactic. That figure is only a numerator. Let's add the denominator. There are 61 million people in the UK. That divides out to £300 per person per year. It's not an insignificant number but it's also not the end of civilization. It's also not a figure that is evenly distributed. High energy users will pay more. Low users less.

Because you've held sway with this line all of these 'small' amounts now add up to one of the greatest burdens of debt ever. Even given the uncertainty levels within climate projections, all the economic models say INVEST NOW! All the insurance companies are building this into their risk models.  Every country's military is building it into their assessemnts. But you guys on the right say, "Nah, don't waste the money."

You guys are essentially saying, "Insurance is too expensive." It's too expensive until you need it.

In any case we will forget 'global warming' as the effects of peak oil begin to bite. We've got to HAVE the stuff before we can burn it and release the CO2. Greens never take into account declining production in their doomsday run-away CO2 scenarios.
