these are valid prototypes, touchscreen started off 30 years ago its just took them till the iphone / ipad and multitouch to make it work in a way that would appeal to the masses. some technological leaps as they appear to the public are very old from a development perspective. ie 30 years old.

The Apple Phone Was never invented or talked about in 1980 as said was, plus apple didnt start looking into Phones untill the iphone was realsed. And touch screen capabilites were not avalible back then either.

The iPad was in development even before that, but they put the project on hold.
