  • I've never repaired or made my own electric guitar, but I would like to fix my old electric Silvertone - circa 1965 Kay guitar. I was wondering what it would take to get it up and running, the only thing missing is the electronics that were once inside the body. I dont know the names of the parts, but I would like to learn them. Do you have any suggestions on how I would go about fixing, or would it be a better idea to have it repaired professionally?

  • well i don't know EXACTLY what you need, but i'm guessing you just need a jack, volume pot, tone pot, pickups

  • You can buy wiring kits which are a lot easier since they come with everything you need. Depending on what controls and pickups the guitar has you need different ones. A good website for this is axesrus (.com). But they are English so if you don't live here then the shipping might cost a lot, but just search on google for guitar wiring kits.
