Will jump in here. I agree and I do love Chrissie. She did sex this up and the male 'ooh, ooh' vocals remind me too much of the Pretenders.

Chrissie would not have had a problem taking this song to a bitter and snotty direction, much the same way she did with 'Boys In Town'. She may have wanted to sound 'cocky' on this track, but whatever... it didn't work. I take it for what it is. They lost everything that they once were when they did 'I Touch Myself', case closed.

Take a look at U2 and those crap albums rattle and hum and Zooropa they were absolutely horrid and a much bigger step away from their roots than the Divinyls I touch myself was for them. Reguardless of that there is still a ton of good Divinyls music to listen to anyway :)

I believe she chose to give up the school uniform and chose the outfit in it's place. I know, it does come across as a sell out next to the wonderful female-Angus young thing... however, if you live in Australia (which I can you don't) and are familiar with Aussie pub girls and street-wise-world-weary Oz women, you'd probably understand where she's coming from in her choice of look and over here, we do not see women like that as strumpets.
