you have to understand the only reason why the reviews are mixed is because some of his narrow minded fans only like guitar driven stuff and not beats. But personally good music is what i care about and thats what this is.

I like electronic as well as more traditional instruments. And actually the bad reviews had nore to do with the sound of the production quality. Somtimes real instruments are best to achieve those sounds your looking for. And sometimes only certain kinds of sounds can only be achieved through electronica means. For me it's whatever works but the sound on the beats part of this album was a little weak. The persistant drums sounded like a snare that needed to be tuned up or thrown away.

This is not bad but any of previous work with Cornell had better sound quality overall on record. But yeah you could say that the poor reviews were do to many of his previous fans. Some maybe are just aposed to this style of music but many of his previous fans actually took notice to lesser quality of this album. This album should have used conventional instruments for the best quality along with electronica to really bring out those smokey synth parts.
