this gets my vote of a real true possible elevator that could have the deathtrap label come true along with my econo lodge dover nahhh theres no pattern of crappy elevators and dover its just a myth lol
Also, this time it was much warmer. Last time I filmed that one, it was snowing outside. The temperature can affect the viscosity of the hydraulic fluid.
the dover i went on yesterday is acting up but it is a dover but it sounds like its just low on oil

Still quite a death trap. There is still no excuse for something like this.

Actually, it's still loud, but the cab fan cancels out the motor noise. Also, I think this elevator needs to be modernized with a traction elevator.

Interesting, but it is true that thicker fluid can result in bumpy rides.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
It can sometimes even cause the elevator to break down. If that happens continuously due to cold weather, usually a heater is installed.

Wow, it's no wonder that tank heaters & oil coolers are used on modern elevators.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
And that the motor was loud only once - when it was below freezing outside.

I bet the motor was really struggling to get the elevator going.

I think so too. :P

Looks like the elevator had been serviced before especially the machine room where the loud motor needs to be repaired.
