  • Great video Jake. I'm a butterfingers type mechanic but you've made this look so ez I'm goin' give er a try. Anything to improve the brew. Thanks for the helping hand!

  • Just built one according to your video.... couldn't have been easier!!!! I have never soldered anything before, but I think I got it figured out... It's amazing the skills I have learned since learning to brew!!!!! Thanks for the video!

  • @pauloelfke AWESOME! Glad the video helped!!

  • Thanks for putting this up! I just finished mine and it's working like a charm. Followed your design nearly 100%. Can't wait to get a starter rockin!

  • @blackcollarfiend Cool! Glad I could help! Cheers!

  • How much did this cost to make?

  • Would you please give some more detail on the power connection wiring? Mine wont work.

  • @EmpathicAlchemist Hey, sorry for the delay in getting back with you. Did you get it figured out? If not msg me and I'll be glad to help!

  • Thanks Jake. I just made me one of these for my 2L starters here in Scotland and it worked real fine. Now I can get on with other things as the beasties are being spun. Replaced the the screwheads with some countersunk ones, but apart from that, everything was as it is in the video.. Thanks man...

  • @TheSamohon Cool! i think having a stir plate is a very good idea to make sure those yeasties are viable! AND for higher gravity beers! Glad you got one going!!!

  • How is the potentiometer place and also to resistor

  • @Tekkid1981 I'm not sure I understand what you're asking?

  • Thanks for sharing... Home brewers ROCK!

  • I just made one of these this weekend. The local radioshack didnt have a big enough project box so I got a $3 cigar box and it worked great. My flask and stir bar are on the way, and I'll be posting something similar soon. Nice video...I think you can def go with a 2L starter bc that big a vortex isnt necessary, plus 2L starters are what you need for most 5 gallon batches anyway...nice job!

  • @JOMalone3113 Kewl... I almost went with a cigar box but had the other box.. What size beaker and stir bar did you end up getting?

  • @jakecpunut I got a 2000ml erlenmeyer flask and a I got the mini and super mini stir bar. IDK which will work best yet, but I intend to go into that in a video...

  • @JOMalone3113 nice.. look forward to the video!!

  • Nice, I thought about making one of these, but figured it would be more difficult. I may have to build me one of these... cool, video...

  • @DickyBenfield thanks... it's not too difficult.. GO FOR IT! You can find deals but like I said I like the hands on stuff and it wasn't too hard at all.. if you'll follow the link in the more info section to homebrewtalk you'll have all the info you need!

  • Nice.... i would have mounted fan to the box, not the lid... then you wouldn't have screw heads to deal with plus the space from the top of the fan to your flask wouldn't have a metal around for the magnet to deal with...( try flat-head screws and counter sink?) i use 3L wine jug to make 2L starters... cheap wine $5.99 jug... i get the burgundy dump it into a pitcher and add some fresh orange, lemon and lime slices to make sangria and my gf drinks it... lol

    BREW ON !

  • @ZaBuDaB actually I picked up some flat head screws today to take the place of those... i didn't mention it in the video but I knew that was going to be a problem!

haha... cool.. thanks for the tips! My wife loves sangria!!
