yea, I'm an ike player too. Knowin your strengths is always a good thing, but I like knowin my WEAKNESS' so that if my enemy tries to capitalize on them, I just turn round and SMASH them before they can. Like, Ike has Great knockback and power, sure, but he has bad speed and falls quickly, PLUS his up-b move can send him DOWN the edge instead of keepin on the edge. I find the best way to cover the speed is just, well, usin his dash a move. Still good knockback, and still good damage.

True,true...however his smash attacks i dont recommend usin or dash a cuz it leaves u open,side a is powerful and has a good killing chance.Best way to use him in my opinion,use his aaa,dont use smash attacks(besides smash down) cuz its pretty fast on execution

Well actually ike and marth never meet each other. Each fire emblem game takes place somewhere else. Marth is the main charctr of FE1 FE3 and FE11 and Ike is only in FE9 and FE10

I picked Ike originally as a Fire Emblem fan over anything else, but I grew to love the guy. That said, I still usually lose against my friend, no matter what character he plays as. It's gotten better, so now he only beats me with his better ones(like the Star Fox guys), but Ike has some terrible weaknesses if you don't know how to use him, and every character has their own strengths to use against him.

Yep! The drawback of being a middle-weight powerhouse. However, if you compare him to the other heavy-hitters like Boswer, DeDeDe, and Ganondorf you'll see that he's the fastest of the heavyweights.

Ike really is a strong character though. Even though he's not as fast as Marth, he's still awesome. Well, I'm sure a large double-handed sword would slow you up to right? <3

Roy from Melee is not necessarily ike in Brawl.

Roy was tons faster than Ike. Ike is a lot more powerful though.

But the main fire gist and everything, yes. They are similar.

In my opinion, the main difference between Roy and Ike is that Ike's sword has no sweetspot; his attacks will deal the same damage (with the exception of his FSmash) no matter where you hit with it. This is a HUGE advantage over Roy, who could only deal good damage with the hilt of his sword, which severely limited his range. Ike is also considerably more powerful than Roy.

Also, Ike's USmash is beastly, whereas Roy's is just a poke :).

If you get predictable with Counter, that's when people start grabbing or charging Smash attacks on purpose.

You don't mention that Roy's range sucks; he can only deal damage if the enemy is close to him. Ike has been said to outrange even Melee Marth (not only Brawl Marth) and his attacks deal the same amount of damage wherever you hit. Also, Ike is faster at short distances - Quick Draw is a phenomenal spacing tool that allows you to rush the enemy and follow up with a jab or grab.
