This is why calling for Wenger's head is a ridiculous suggestion. He made this team, one of the best ever witnessed in football history. How this squad never won the CL is a tragedy (in footballing terms...) Lets not forget Arsenal's dominance came at a time when they had French players from their "golden generation", much like Barca & their Spaniards today. Emulating this again will take more time & even after 6 years, I will support the Gunners through it all. Wenger deserves success again.

Wenger had built up a team that was strong enough to win the league, but they wanted more money than they were getting paid. But you are right about that 'Invincibles', which consisted of four world cup winners:Henry, Viera, Pires & Gilverto. Three of them were from France's golden generation. Its not easy to build a team like that, especially as they developed a lot under Wenger.

How far we have fallen, from the invincibles to also rans and a selling club. Why is there no activity in this transfer window when all the other teams have invested heavily. There should have been signings earlier this summer when everyone could see Fabregas going and Nasri going, then we sell Clichy and now with 10 days to go we have perhaps 60-70 million to invest but what team will let players go now and for what prices. In my opinion 5-6 players are needed and not super quality players.

There will always be players like Henry, maybe not as good, but similar nonetheless. Even Bergkamp, despite being God, wasn't one of a kind ( I for one feel Van P is a left footed Bergkamp playing in a different position)
