  • I’ve been working on scenery for the past several months. I’m in the process of installing a park with a working Merry-Go–Round with lights, sound and auto DCC operation. I’ll try to get a new update on YouTube this week.

    Thanks for asking

  • do u have any new videos i want to see how far u have gotten I have exstended my layout and added a hump yard go look when u can

  • Love how the train disappears into the distance at the end!

  • I can't wait to see your layout scenicked! The trains with sound are fantastic - I am an n-scaler as well, and I want to upgrade to sound. I've used sound equiped HO at the Elmhurst IL club (my brother's Hiawatha) and I love it! Cheers!

  • Sweeeeeeeet!!

  • where do u live and is there away i could chat withu on the phone i would just liketo talk more about trains ur set would be awesome to see u can send the number to my e mail morettibrian@yahoo.com if you want that is ...Brian

  • Great Lay-out. I love to see the finishing touch.

    Try : treinbaan 3000

  • I like it!

  • the daylight rocks

  • what kind of track do you use is it kato, e z track(bachman), or outher track?

  • It's Atlas track on cork roadbed

  • dear ringersmadchamp,

please send me a message explaining how to lay n scale track down like you did, cause i have no idea how to.

  • Its easy. I used particle board as my base. Then I mapped out where the track is going.

Next I glued down N scale cork and nailed the track in place. It takes a little time and patients, but it gives a good smooth quiet ride. Ill have some new stuff on youtube with in the next week. ie: Con-Cor Aerotrain and The Southern Pacific Daylight Express, a few C-liners and anything else I can cram in.

  • wouldnt particle board be really heavy? and, just so my layout doesnt break, what do the supports look like? are they complicated, or just a lot of triangles to give it structure?

  • A little heave but not a problem. The big plus is it will not warp. I used traditional box framing, nothing fancy. If you look at the 4 videos, you can see the basic framing I used.

  • what kind of hammer do you use to drive the model railroad nails or whatever theyre called into the particle board and is it hard?

  • I use a tack hammer. It's light weight.

Also a "nail set" with a dimple on the end to help drive the nail the last little bit.

  • i'm jealous of you because i've been trying and trying to get the southern pacific steam locomotive.

  • Sweet layout. But it took along time for a train to pass the screen. You still get 5 stars!!

  • i see, well i was in a store called leading edge hobbies and a connector for a dcc cost like 349 $, and i now have a fair sized track

and one power sorce it works fine, is it ok ?

or will there be fire ?

  • It depends how many trains you want to run at one time. If you have 2 or 3, you should be fine. It's all baised on how many amps you are using at any given time. Digitrax has a starter unit for MUCH less. Check there web site. Is the Zepher dcc power unit. It ran my layout for over a year until I wanted more power.

  • well i have a noob set till i can get a permanet layout finished. the set i have at the moment is called " life-like " :sigh: it has good trains and the track is easy to clean, have you even used that type of track ? or even know of that brand ?

  • thats a nice 4-8-4 NW 611 you got there , how much did it cost you ?

  • I found it for 99.00. The Decoder added another 100.00 but well worth it.

  • also on an HO scale do you know the diffrence between DCC and DC ?

  • DC = direct current. The standard power for model railroad.

DCC = Digital command control. Every engine

needs a special decoder and you need a digital

    command power pack.

  • so i cant just go out and buy a DCC train , i have to buy the cammader to ? like will it just run or will it stal or some thing , long story short, can i run a DCC train with out the cammand pannel ?

  • Some DCC will.

You will have to ask the person selling if it will run under DC power.

  • thank you , oh can i ask you about all my little train problems like for a larger track do i need more power sorces ?

  • You may not need more power, but you need to

connect the power to the track every 3 to 4 feet. The farther the train gets from a power connection, it will begin to slow down.

  • is it really hard to connect that many power sorces , like i dont see it on your track ?

  • Its not that hard to do. It just takes time.

After its complete you will notice how much better the train runs. All my connections come up from under the track and attach to the side of the rail.

  • that layout kicks ass. where u get??

  • I'm just starting my n-scale and I love your yard, great layout!

  • wow i can only have 1 train running at a time with my track. i am almost done saving up for a second line.

  • Your steam runs sooooo goood!

  • very very very very cool im in ho BUT MAN THATS COOL!!! GOOD JOB!!! :)

  • Is the Daylight a Con-Cor or Kato model?

  • It's the Con-Cor. Kato's Daylight has been delayed. ::sigh::

  • Shame

  • your kidding right? oh please Kato dont turn into PCM!

  • I wish I had that much room 4 my trains!

I'd have strings of passengers with 3 mainlines!

    I'll have 2 wait though.

Very nice though, I love it!!!

  • Real nice. Love those passenger trains. I have a North Coast Limited and an Empire Builder.

  • HOW MUCH SPACE U NEED 4 THAT??

  • The room is 22 x 13.

  • Very nice!! I just started N scale again since doing HO with sound! Now I know the Daylight had two different wisttles, but what was the purpose for this? Thanks!!

  • If I understand the history, The air horn was used as a warning to passengers (at the station) to "Get out of the way!!"

  • Some will say that its for crossings and that they only work with air horn. But I think its just a way for them to save steam.

  • ok..nice

  • are u sure thats n scale looks more like H.O to me

  • Sure is!!! N scale Precision Craft E8/9 w/ESU sound. The second A unit is a Life Like E 8/9 with a Digitrax DZ123. The cars are N scale Kato.

  • I think I like theTtsunami better!

  • Great stuff wow, I just started N scale and Im already converting to DCC sound. Thanks for selling it too me lol.
