Really! However, I love Smokey Bear. That is his correct name. It is a common mistake to call him Smokey the Bear.  I grew up calling him that as well. It wasn't until I was an adult that I learned his name was actually Smokey Bear. I think the mistake originates from the old song whose lyrics went, "Smokey the Bear, Smokey the Bear, Prowlin' and a Growlin' and a Sniffin' at the Air..."

That, and to us fans and their performers, the Muppet creations are just as real as you or I, simply because even though they acknowledge that they are puppets, they are real puppets! XD
