@movinglove: God has given us two kinds of revelation: special revelation in Scripture and general revelation in the world around us. We can study both to learn about him. When the 2 sources appear to give us conflicting answers, it behooves us to ask whether we may be misinterpreting one of them. Multiple streams of scientific study demonstrate that Genesis is not to be read as a history book. Your viewpoint makes God out to be a deceiver planting all sorts of misleading evidence in nature.

@Daytimeofnight You are right about two kinds of revelation, but if a person is beyond the word of God then he is out too far! Don't leave the word of God to follow what you think is the Holy Spirit. It won't work! You'll be a realm where Satan can decieve you. Putting the word first will always keep you scriptually balanced so you don't open yourself up doctrinally to Satan's deceptions. The problem with going with science is it is based on man's thoughts and not God's word!

@Daytimeofnight Science leaves too many questions or holes if you will. Genesis is part of every Christian's heritage, so for you to discredit it as not being truth questions rather or not the whole Bible can be trusted, which is what Satan would want! All scripture is inspired from God you either chose to believe it or you don't! You don't get to chose which parts you want to believe and not believe! It doesn't work that way. @Daytimeofnight start judging what you hear by what God tells us in His word! No revelation will ever under any circumstances conflict what the word of God has already revealed in His written word. And if it does then we are to reject it! I'm not saying it isn't true. I'm saying that you're misinterpreting it. You don't think the psalms or song of songs or the parables of Jesus are literal history. Even if it doesn't say "this is a metaphor" you infer that it is because of the type of literature it is. The same analysis needs to be applied to Genesis. What kind of literature is it? In ancient cultures it was very common to have creation stories that explained how order came out of chaos. Genesis is clearly in this genre.

What part of my comment is ignorant? There are millions of species on the planet. If you believe that all species that ever lived were created at the same time, then you need to multiply that number by a factor of about 100 to take into account all the now extinct species. Then do the math yourself. Adam would have been naming animals as a fulltime job for years. It's absurd. The account is not written as history. It's a different genre altogether.

So while your stumped on how adam could name 1.5 mil species, you don't argue the point that man had it made and all gave to him by God and never had to lift a finger for it. @Daytimeofnight God explains all this in His written will for us called the Bible and I am sure that if you were really willing to draw near and actually make an effort to understand His word you would receive more clearity on life, and I hope you do. You can't come to a conclusion about the possibilites of God on the fraction of knowllege you have in your mind. You try to figure out why the brown cow eats green grass and makes white milk and churns yellow butter, and the whole time you are....

But you can feel it and you see the effects it has on the world. That is how God works, you can't see Him but you feel His love and you see His effects in the lives who dilligently seek Him. @Daytimeofnight So the next time something goes in your favor or you have something miraculous happen in your life know this, it happened because God had mercy upon you and is trying to show you His love for you! weather or not you believe He exist, He knows you need Him and He will never give up on you. It's only by your choice that you reject Him that you won't make it to share in the glory that Jesus Christ bought and paid for already! I advise you to think about turning to Him instead away!

@movinglove: Why do you assume that I reject God? I am a Christian. I attend church. I have read the Bible through many times. I left my original comment on this video because it embarrasses me as a Christian to have fellow Christians make such silly claims. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Adam had superhuman abilities. That is a western evangelical creationist idea. It is not biblical. Adam and Eve are symbolic representations of the human race, not actual historical figures.

@Daytimeofnight If you look in that Bible of yours, in Rom.5:12 Paul inspired by the Holy Spirit wrote,"Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned" So here we see "Adam" was one person not a rep. of many people like you say! What you are doing is doubting the word of God! And what you are doing is saying parts of God's word is not truth, and what that does is deny that the Bible is completely true doctrine

@Daytimeofnight If you take Adam out of the Bible we would not need Christ to come and redeem us of our sins! So I seriously doubt that you are a Christian.If you are then you need to repent of your ways and follow His leading. John 10:27 says,"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me." @movinglove: Are you in need of salvation only because Adam sinned? I suspect you believe that you need salvation because you have sinned too. Thus, I don't need Adam to have sinned (or existed) in order to be a sinner in need of a savior. I'm in need of redemption, regardless of what my ancestors have done. I'm not taking issue with the "truth" of God's word. I'm taking issue with the narrow hyperliteralist interpretation you are giving it. Do you think that the sun stood still for Joshua?

@Daytimeofnight Well it sounds like you are confused my friend and yes I know it stood still for Joshua, because God sais it did! I also believe that the walls came tumbling down at Jerico and that the God parted the Red Sea, and that all the healings that Jesus did as He walked the earth took place also. And If you don't believe in it as well, then you don't believe in the Bible, And you are not a child of God! Sin entered the world by "Adam" it says so in Rom. 5:12.

@Daytimeofnight Rom. 5:18 satates "Adam" is the reason why everyone suffers condemnation. You don't know the Bible very well and you need to do some more studying! 5:19 says because Adam disobeyed many became sinners! Next time you accuse of Christians looking silly which I could care less what the world thinks of me, maybe come up with a different plan that won't make you look so silly!

@movinglove: Paul is drawing an analogy between a 1st Adam and a 2nd Adam. The NT writers frequently refer to OT characters to elucidate a point. And I'm sure Paul thought of Adam as a real historical figure because he had no reason to think otherwise. But that tells us nothing of whether Adam was a real historical figure. Population genetics make it abundantly clear that the human population could not possibly have consisted of only 2 people within the last 10,000 years.
