its not from the dookie you fool, the nuts are thoroughly cleaned before they are even processed, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO FECAL MATTER IN THE FINISHED PRODUCT.
Have you tried Chai tea? Not the fake stuff from Starbucks! You may need to go to a Kenyan restaurant to get the good stuff.
And from Mongolia, is Suutei Tsai, or Salty Tea. You may need to make this stuff yourself, basically you scald some milk, goat's if you have it, add some water, and your favorite green tea (I like Oolong), then add salt to taste! In Mongolia you'll get TONS of salt in your cup, but if you're making it at home you don't need to add a lot.
@jmlidea chai? not yet! i dont know if there are any kenyan restuarants near me. i know there is a ethiopian one not far from me. salty tea? wow i will have to try that. my mom drinks hot tea with no sugar the northern way but i drink it sweet the southern way. but never with salt!
I posted a comment on another video asking you to try this stuff, I think it was the one where you try dung beetle. But now that you already have... thanks?
@nrambold a percolator would ruin the delicate heat-sensitive nuances in the flavor of the coffee. try a french press or a coffee siphon. a coffee maker isn't bad either, if you don't mind a somewhat weaker brew.
@rockergod789 my dad s friend had a french press thing and he said it was the best he was from costa rica and he knows coffee! i think you coud be right:)
@Efreeti nah its not true dude, im from indo and i know how it works, luwak only eats the very ripe and high quality beans, its their diet, and as humans do they go poo poo every morning as well
@chubbyhorsie2 i wish! no we live in a tiny house 5 people in 3 bedrooms:) we only could get some because we got enough to make a few cups and saved up for it! usualy it goes one oddity that costs money and a few tha t are really cheap. with weeks in between:D
Kopi luwak is the most expensive coffee in the world, and the unique thing that luwak only eat the best coffee only, no matter how it proccess, this coffee is the best, and luwak also rare and hard to find(cmiiw) .
hachi no ko (baby bees or bee larvae) (Matsumoto, Japan) - With memories of being stung a few times by bees, had to think twice before putting them in my mouth. Small in size, but could definitely see bees in the bowl.
Hey Remy, I admire your bravery. Have you ever had a Japanese food called Nattou? It's fermented soy beans. It would be neat to see a video about that.
@happygoruckyrandy thank you!i have never tried it but i was looking for it on line recently. it is hard for me to find but i will get some and try it:)
@FoodOddities yes, it is easier, we also have the kopi luwak stand. also u can try so many tropical fruit in here, such as dragon fruit, honey mango, cherry mango. and for the meat, try the great taste of saksang and the bone marrow of ox with a straw served in soup. cool, right?
Remy I am sitting at Starbucks with my wife and son thinking how good you mDr that Kopi sound. I started drinking black coffee at your age and never stopped! Be warned it stunted my growth at 6 ft 3, so keep enjoying it!
I'd never heard of this one either. Not sure I'll be trying it any time soon - I like coffee, but not enough to fork out $100 for a cup, even if it is the best coffee in the world. I hope you didn't drink the whole pot on your own though, or does being pooped out by a civet reduce the level of caffeine in the beans?
i know! funny huh?i read they were upset because civets broke in and ate up thier coffee and they though they could get some back by digging in the poop and they found it tasted better. i would have left the poop alone it wouldnt be me who discovered it:P
Ohh-kaayyyy... the Chibi-Zimmern strikes again with something I admit I would be hesitatnt to try. I mean, yes I can understand the processes and the logic, but, well...
Wow! I've heard of that coffee too but I haven't tasted it.. It's very interesting that it's not bitter. Why can't they just emulate the same process of "chemical change" which happens inside the cat's belly into some place well, less disgusting. Hehehe.. Another amazing FoodOddity!!! I'm glad you get to try it Remy. :D You're amazing.
i read that some one did figure out how to do it wihtout the cat stomach they found chemicals that are in it and take it through the same coffee. but they cant sell it for as much because there is no limit to how much they can make. with the real stuff they only get 600 pounds a year. i wish i could see how hard they wash those beans :D
I love coffee but then again I also love the bitterness and acidity of the stuff. Still, I think you're lucky to be able to drink such an unusual variety of coffee like that. Also, did you drink the whole pot to yourself? I also drank a lot of coffee when I was young. I guess it helps that I started sometime around age 8.
Another thing, that coffee maker you have is pretty crazy-fancy, eh? At first I was confused why you were dumping the whole beans in... Built in grinder? Wow! I want one!
@Duckhugger did it stunt your growth:D i get to have some most week ends and it used to be half milk and half coffee but now i skip the milk and sugar. i love our coffee maker you can set it to grind and make coffee any time so you canwake up with it.
@FoodOddities That's the funny thing, I shot up to the height of about 6' 2" (188 cm) by the time I was in 6th grade. Despite my frequent love of drinking coffee... I grew to tower over most the other kids around me. The "it'll stunt your growth" thing is a total superstition, as far as I'm concerned.
Oh! I think it would be cool to have a Palm Civet as a pet! They look neat, plus think about how you could buy $10 worth of coffee beans, feed it to your pet, clean them after they come out the other end and sell them for a huge profit!
Cool! I don't like coffee, but I'm thinking I might like this because it's the bitterness and acidity I don't like in coffee. The way you described it, it sounds great!
Of course, anyone that got hooked on it would go bankrupt fast! I know people will buy Starbucks coffee most every day, and that can add up to thousands of dollars a year, but I'm sure just one cup of this a week would cost you more!
@FoodOddities That's cool! I have tried chocolate covered coffee beans before. I figure if these make such good coffee they must be even better eating like that!
