Any watchmakers found waving a screwdriver anywhere close to a JLC are shot with a tranquilizer dart and safely relocated to an Invicta service center. They live out the rest of their lives happily scratching Myotas and pressed tin dials.
@continuity007 I've not gotten compliments on the 19.00 casio, much, other than others being grateful for the accurate time to the second. I HAVE gotten plenty of compliments on a $69 Citizen watch though. And I consider both to be equally distant away from these high end watches in terms on quality and finish.
@MrFcalvo Perhaps the history, yes. BUT, but, but, one swipe of a screwdriver at the mechanics shop and you've got a re-finishing job on a $400,000 item that will cost you more than the vehicle you're repairing.
Practicality and consummability and day to day use is what it's all about. A $400,000 watch is so far removed from reality that no-one would know how to appreciate it anyways. Only connoisseurs of fine horological constructs would understand.. But not a Section-8 'er for example!

@Kg277 it's not about accuracy stupid. It's about quality of finshing, perfect proportions and a great history of the watchmaker...
